Battle at the Barn 2 Results

Well I hope everybody is having a great off season to the dirt track racing season. I am ready for the racing season to get here already and i am doing some work on the tracksid e report website and should have the web work done by the middle or end of february.


Drivers photos are being accepted as soon as you get your cars done and i will post them up on my website on the drivers page and maybe right here on the blog page. Also I plan to do some other things like maybe live flag-to-flag racing if i can find sponsors for the broadcasts.


Well now lets get to talking about other things now since there is a title for the blog. I needed to get a little racing fix taking care of until the dirt track racing season gets started so i headed down to Veteran's Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines to watch the Battle at the Barn II promoted by Kruse Motorsports. Not only was there racing but there was also a trade show in the basement of Vets which had the 2010 Marshalltown Speedway Pace Truck, thanks to Karl Chevrolet. There was a total of 382 karts, pit bikes, quads, 3 wheelers, golf carts and lawn mowers signed in.


The first feature of the night was the Celebrity Race with Lou Siplot from 95 KGGO taking home the victory. Lou lost to Heather Burnside in the 95 KGGO Grudge Match Race though.


In the Kid Karts division, Michael Dejong of Montezuma, Iowa took the heat race wins so in the feature he would have the privilage to start on the pole and he would go on and take the win with Sage Walker from Cedar, Iowa coming home 2nd.


Quad JR division saw Zach Houell of Pella, Iowa and Cody Kilma of Fremont, Iowa win the heat races. Houell would start 2nd and take the feature event with Korin Phillippson.


In the Putt Putt division, Michael Dejong would take the heat race wins but in the feature he would be denied the clean sweep as Sage Walker would take the win over Dejong.


10" Pit Bike Adult division, William Moothart of Adel, Iowa and Austin Kaplan of Ankeny, Iowa won the heat races. Kaplan would go on and take the win and will receive a IMCA Drivers License in the division he plans to race in, finishing behind Kaplan was Ben Van Wyk of Pella, Iowa.


10" Pit Bike 12 & Under division, Dylan Smith of Colfax, Iowa won the heat races. Smith would also cruise to the victory in the feature with Noah Houell of Pella, Iowa finishing 2nd.


In the 370 Clones division, Carter Vandenburg and Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Ryan Nelson of Carroll, Iowa won the first set of heat races. Benji Irvine of Stanley, Iowa, Carter and John Emerson of Waterloo won the 2nd set of heat races. Austin Beck of Evansdale, Iowa and Wade Badker of Garner, Iowa won the b-features. Cayden Carter would go on take the win in the feature with Adam Bell of Kalona, Iowa finishing 2nd.


12" Pit Bike division, William Moothart and Tyler Waltz of Winterset, Iowa would win the heat races. Moothart would take the win in the feature event with Colin Hickman of Des Moines, Iowa finishing 2nd.


JR 1 Medium division, Drew Janssen of Pella, Iowa won both both sets of heat races. Janssen also took the feature with Brody Willett of Alburnett, Iowa coming home in 2nd.


Amateur Bike division, Bill Mallory of Des Moines, Iowa and Clayton Webster of Ottumwa, Iowa won the 1st set of heat races. Voitel Erich of Ottumwa, Iowa and Levi Layman of Muscatine, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Jordan Baber of Palmyra, Iowa won the feature event with Scott Crock of Balter, Iowa finishing 2nd.


JR 2 Mediuum division, Cole Janssen of Pella, Iowa and Corbin Heitz of Des Moines, Iowa won the heat races. Janssen took the win in the feature and Heitz would finish 2nd.


Pro Singles division, Duke Erickson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Chaz Parker of Muscatine, Iowa would win the heat races. Chaz Parker would take the win in the feauter and Parker would take 2nd.


In the KT100 division, Jamie Ferrell of Indianapolis, Indiana and Chris Blattler of Palo, Iowa win the first set of heat races. AJ Failor and Jake Strayer of Newton, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Ryan Hale of Des Moines, Iowa won the b-feature. Strayer took the win in the feature also meaning he wins a IMCA Driver License, Failor would come home 2nd, Ferrell would finish 3rd.


Pro Twins division, Clint Erickson of Sioux Falls, SD win both heat races. Clint would defeat Duke Erickson in the feature event.


In the Open 4 Cycle division, John Emerson of Waterloo, Iowa and Eddie Brouse of Mitchellville, Iowa win the first set of heat races. Bryan Nevins and Byron Weyer of Des Moines, Iowa win the 2nd set of heat races. Emerson took the feature win with Chad Selk of Chilli, Wisconsin coming home 2nd.

Outlaw Golf Carts were next up, Russell Haefner of Dysart, Iowa and Craig Dunlap of Dysart, Iowa won the heat races. Justin Kirkpatrick of Waterloo, Iowa took the feature win with Haefner comes home 2nd.

JR 1 Heavy division, Drew Janssen of Pella, Iowa wins both heat races. Janssen took the feature win also with Josh Vis from Legrand, Iowa coming home 2nd.

Outlaw 3 Wheelers division, Greg Moyer of Ankeny, Iowa and Michael Graham of Des Moines, Iowa winning the heat races. Graham would take the feature event with Eric Moore of Murray, Iowa coming home 2nd.

In the 390 Clones division, Ryan Nelson of Carroll, Iowa, Josh Most of Red Oak, Iowa and Matt Dejong of Montezuma, Iowa win the first set of heat races. Nelson, Heath Kusel of Belle Plaine, Iowa and Andy Bates of Newton, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Josh Most and Patrick Parks won the b-features. Bates would take the feature event with Trevor Young of Wellman, Iowa finishing 2nd and John Emerson of Waterloo, Iowa coming home 3rd.

JR 2 Heavy division saw Patrick Brumm of Rockford, Iowa and Cole Janssen won the heat race events. Janssen would go on and take the feature event with Ross Young of Saylorville, Iowa coming home in the runner-up spot

Quad C division saw Mike Goldsberry of Runnells, Iowa, Walter Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa and Ron Crafty of Ankeny, Iowa won the first set of heat races. Goldsberry, Blake Henry of Indianola and Seth Hoover of Richland, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Joshua Crouse of Des Moines, Iowa took the b-feature. Goldsberry took the feature event.

Open 2 Cycle divison saw Jamie Ferrell of Indianapolis, Indiana and DJ Palmer of Des Moines, Iowa win the first set of heat races. Josh Higday of Des Moines, Iowa and Austin Ferrell of Des Moines, Iowa win the 2nd set of heat races. Shawn Esser of Altoona, Iowa won the b-feature. Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown would beat Josh Higday in the feature event.

In the Stock Heavy division, Eddie Brouse of Mitchellville, Iowa and Corey Forsyth of Mitchellville, Iowa won the first set of heat races. Brouse and Johhn Emerson of Waterloo, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Brouse took the feature event with Emerson coming home in 2nd.

Quad B division, Kyle McCarl of Altoona, Iowa, Eric Vanderplueg of Altoona, Iowa and Billy Petithory of Des Moines, Iowa won the first set of heat races. McCarl, Spencer Hopwood of Ottumwa and Petithory won the 2nd set of heat races. Dustin Clark of Eldon, Iowa won the b-feature. Vanderplueg took the feature event with McCarl in 2nd and Derrick Clark of Eldon, Iowa in 3rd.

Outlaw Lawn Mower division saw Paul Krueger of Carson, Iowa win the first heat race and Matt Tucker of Shellsburg, Iowa win the other heat race. Krueger won the feature event with Dan Love of Hartford in 2nd and Brien Mccready of Carson, Iowa.

In the Sit-Up Kart divison, Eddie Clearwater of Des Moines, Iowa won both heat races but in the feature event, Clearwater was beaten by Andy Rice of Des Moines, Iowa.

Quad Open A division, Eric Vanderplueg of Altoona, Iowa and Chris Prussman of Brookings, South Dakota won the first set of heat races. Mike Moore of Des Moines, Iowa and Travis Brandt of Des Moines, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Vanderplueg took the feature event with Brandt in 2nd and Moore in 3rd.

The final division of the night was the Run What Ya Brung division. Jeremy Hills of Newton, Iowa and Steve Smith of Des Moines, Iowa won the first set of heat races. Eric Vanderplueg of Altoona, Iowa and Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa won the 2nd set of heat races. Josh Higday of Des Moines, Iowa took the feature event with Gustin in 2nd and Jamie Ferrell of Indianapolis, Indiana in 3rd.
