Keselowski Wins The Inaugural US Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway

My day started with a little tailgating before the race but then it was qualifying time in which Ricky Stenhouse Jr set the quick time in the 3M Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. Justin Allgaier was 2nd quickest in the Verizon Wireless Penske Racing car, Erik Darnell was 3rd quickest in the Northern Tool+Equipment Ford for Roush Fenway Racing, Trevor Payne was 4th in the Aaron's Dream Machine for MWR and Brad Coleman in the Gamestop car #20 for JGR was 5th quickest.
Then the pre-race concert with The Roys was performing, i headed down to the pit area for the Fan Walk through and met NASCAR President Mike Helton and a few of the drivers. It was fun to get to meet some big time races again at the Iowa Speedway.
Driver Introductions would start at 3:00pm and then the Race would get rolling at 3:30pm.
When the race would get going, Ricky Stenhouse Jr would jump to the lead but then the first race caution would come out on lap 4 for John Wes Townley spinning out on the backstretch. On the restart on lap 8, Stenhouse Jr was passed by Justin Allgaier.
The next caution would come out on lap 12 when the Sean Murphy would spin in turn 2 after making contact with the wall. Allgaier would still lead and wouldn't lose it on the restart.
The 3rd caution would come out on lap 40 when Casey Atwood would spin out in turn 1, this would make the pit area busy as the first pit stops of the day would happen. Brad Keselowski would be the new race leader after pit stops.
Keselowski would lead until just after the next caution came out on lap 75 when Aric Almirola would make contact with the wall and Eric McClure. Keselowski would come in and pit. Mike Bliss would stay out and lead until lap 80.
"Rowdy" Kyle Busch in the Pizza Ranch #18 would pass Bliss on lap 80 . Busch would see the next caution come out on lap 94 when Michael McDowell spun on the front stretch. Busch would still lead through this but would lose the lead on lap 105 to Keselowski. The next caution would come out on lap 109 when Stephen Leicht, Brendan Gaughan and Ken Butler get together in turn 2.
Keselowski would stay out and hold on to the lead and fight off Busch on the restart. The next caution would come out on lap 146 for debris in turn 1. Keselowski would come in and pit so that handed the lead on the restart to Busch.
The Next Caution would come out on lap 154 for Trevor Payne, Tony Raines and Mike Bliss getting together in turn 4. Busch still maintained the lead on the restart as Keselowski was moving towards the front. On lap 167 there would be another caution this time for Brian Icklor, John Bornerman III and Brad Coleman get together on the backstretch. Busch still maintained the lead though.
On lap 189, Keselowski would make the pass on Kyle Busch. The next caution came out on lap 213 when Austin Dillon, Justin Allgaier and Michael McDowell Jr get together in turn 2.
On the restart Keselowski would maintain the lead but on lap 225 Busch would make the pass. Busch would see 2 cautions come out with the first one on lap 231 when Morgan Sherpard spun on the frontstretch after making contact with Brad Coleman and then another one on lap 236 for Erik Darnell, Justin Allgaier and Steven Wallace getting together on the backstretch.
On the restart, Keselowski and Busch would do battle. Keselowski would make the pass on lap 242 and go on and hold off Kyle Busch for the win.
Brad Keselowski would get the win in first nationwide series race at Iowa Speedway in #88 Godaddy.com JR Motorsports Chevy. Kyle Busch finished 2nd in the Pizza Ranch #18 JGR Toyota, Jason Leffler in the #38 Great Clips Toyota was 3rd, Carl Edwards in the #60 Citi Financial Ford for RFR was 4th and Kelly Bires was 5th in the #10 Frasternal Order of Eagles Toyota.
Then it was time for the Post-Race concert from Country Music Singer James Otto.
The Next Race at Iowa Speedway is coming up Friday and Saturday September 4th and 5th which includes the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for The Lucas Oil 250.
