Smock Wins Big in Late Models, Gustin Gets First Career Modified Win at Indee

Smock Wins Big in Late Models, Gustin Gets First Career Modified Win at Indee
by Jeremy Fox

Saturday Night was an open night for me this week so decided to make my yearly trip up to the Independence Motor Speedway of Peoples Company Weekly Points Night and in all it was a great night of racing with a first time winner in all classes but one.

Jenae Gustin pick up her first career IMCA Modified win meanwhile Travis Smock pick up $1,000 in the IMCA Late Models. Other feature winners were Jason Hocken (IMCA Stock Cars), Quinton Miller (IMCA Hobby Stocks) and Don Erger (Indee Cars).

First feature of the night was the Albert Auto IMCA SportMods 15 lap feature event and before a single lap could be completed the caution came out for Steve Wimer, Andy Edwards and Greg Barnett spun in turns three and four. When the race finally got started it was Kyle Bentley grabbing the top spot only to see the caution come out again after the completion of lap one for Wimer in turn two. Bentley continued to pace the way until lap six when Kevin Hurst powered to the top spot. Two more cautions slowed the feature event on lap seven and 11 but Kevin Hurst held off several challenges including Tony Olson late in the race to take his first of the season in Indee. Olson finished second ahead of Andy Edwards, Dakoda Sellers and Kyle Olson.

Jason Hocken wrestled the lead away from Corey Brown on lap one in the Burco Sales IMCA Stock Cars feature event but the caution came out on lap seven for Matt Burmeister in turn three and then again on the restart for Roeger Ciesielski in turn two. The caution came out again on lap eight when Russell Damme Jr spun in turn three. Hocken saw a hard charging Tom Schmitt but held him off to take his first win of the season. Jarod Weepie was third, Cole Mather was fourth and Chris Luloff was fifth.

Brady Kohrs and Russ Olson led the field to the green in the RCZ Enterprises Indee Cars 12 lapper but by the exit of turn two it was Don Erger grabbing the top spot only to have that wiped away as the red flag came out when Carson Less got sideways, Travis James and Russ Olson flipped upside down in turn four and Kohrs came to a stop. Erger inherited the pole and took advantage jumping out to the lead only to have the caution come out again on lap one for Dalton Weepie meanwhile both Kohrs and Kaden Reynolds head to the work area because their roof had came open. Erger cruised on to the win despite a caution on lap nine. Cole McNeal, Cole Suckow, Dallon Murty and Weepie rounded out the top five.

The caution came out before a single lap was completed in the Christy Door Co. Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature. When the race got going it was Jeremiah Wilson grabbing the to spot but Quinton Miller worked his way and grabbed the top spot away on lap three and never looked back cruising on to the win. Benji Irvine was second, Shawn Kuennen was third, Wilson was fourth and Neal Miller was fifth.

Travis Smock started outside row two of the Budweiser IMCA Late Models 25 lap feature but by the end of lap one, Smock was in the number one spot. The only caution came out when John Emerson came to a stop in the bottom of turn two. Smock saw Sean Johnson right behind him but Smock pulled away until lap traffic slowed him down which allowed Johnson to get back up and battle for the top spot but not even the lap traffic was going to deny Smock the $1,000 prize as he went on to take the win. Johnson finished second, Tyler Bruening was third, Russ Hesse was fourth and Emerson worked his way back up to fifth.

Final feature of the night was the Performance Bodies IMCA Modifieds 20 lap feature event and it was Vern Jackson leading lap one. Brandon Maitland took the top spot on lap two and then the caution flags came on a lap five and eight. Jenae Gustin worked her way to second and grabbed the top spot away on lap ten and only thing slowing her was a pair of cautions on lap 13. Gustin showed her guns as she went on to take her first career IMCA Modified feature win ahead of Brandon Maitland, Ryan Maitland, Ronn Lauritzen and JD Auringer.

Des Moines, Iowa (June 24th, 2016) - Hot Summer night leads to some exciting racing action Friday Night at the Iowa State Fair Speedway. Also in attendance was the Des Moines Blaze, a semi-pro football team.

Oskaloosa, Iowa (June 22nd, 2016) - Wednesday night was the annual Dave Lowry Memorial race sponsored by Monte Motor Parts and Nutz Graphics & Signs. Community 1st Credit Union also sponsored the night as they were handing out many items to drivers and fans in attendance. Even the youngters got to have some fun as they took a couple of laps around the monster half mile with Kids Rides.

Zack Vanderbeek (IMCA Modifieds), Dustin Griffiths (IMCA Hobby Stocks) and Cody Van Dusen (IMCA Sport Compacts) also take feature wins. The Mississippi Valley Vintage Racing Association was in attendance running an expedition heat race and feature for the Vintage Sprint Cars.

VanDusen was not going to be denied the win as he held off the brigade the final two laps. Evans claimed second, Brad Havel was third, John Gill ran fourth and Ryan Havel was fifth

August Bach and Nick Ulin led the field to the green in the Pepsi Cola IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature but by the end of lap one, it was Dustin Griffiths grabbing the top spot. First feature of the night was the ten lap IMCA Sport Compacts feature and the first three laps there was three different leaders. Lincoln Schrock led lap one, John Whalen lap two and Shane Evans took the top spot on lap three. Evans was able to gap himself from John Whalen to cruise on to taking his first win at Osky since the season opener. Bill Whalen Jr got by his brother John Whalen for second with two to go. Schrock came home in fourth and Jason Breuklander was fifth.

Bobby Greene and Steve Allen led the field to the green in the Pepsi Cola IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature but by the end of lap one it was Nick Ulin holding the top spot with fellow Agency driver Danny Thrasher in second. Ulin led until the halfway point when Thrasher took the lead away and cruised off in the sunset to his second consecutive win. Ulin, Dustin Griffiths, Allen and August Bach rounded out the top five.

Up next was the Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars feature event, originally scheduled for 18 laps but because only eight cars checked in the laps was redused to 16 laps. Carter cruised on to his seventh win in a row at Osky. Mike Hughes came home second, Derrick Agee was third, Louis Lynch was fourth and Todd Reitzler was fifth.

Austin Paul got the chance to move up to the outside front row in the 16 lap KBOE Radio IMCA SportMods feature event when Colton Livezey was not able to make the call after suffering heavy damage to the tail of his car in the heat race. Paul took advantage but held off Matthew VanGelder early and held off a hard charging Curtis VanDerWal to take his first win at Osky since August 5th, 2015. VanDerWal was second ahead of Carter VanDenBerg, VanGelder and Jason McDaniel.

Final feature of the night was the Musco Lighting IMCA Modifieds and just like the Stock Cars, the Modifieds feature was shorten to 16 laps. Scott Dickey appeared to be heading on to the win as he lead the first 13 laps but Points Leader Colt Mather grabbed the top spot away on lap 14 and went on to pick up the win ahead of Dickey, Zack Vanderbeek, North Carolina's Kyle Strickler and California's Cody Laney.

Final feature of the night was the Musco Lighting IMCA Modifieds 18 lap feature event. DeFrance Wins In Front of Hometown Crowd and Stanton Remains Perfect in MoTown

DeFrance Wins In Front of Hometown Crowd and Stanton Remains Perfect in MoTown
by Jeremy Fox

Friday night made my third appearance since the Frostbuster to the Marshalltown Speedway because the Iowa State Fair Speedway had a night off because the World Pork Expo was taking place at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. It was Karl Performance and Casey's General Stores Night and 94 cars signed in to tame the high banked quarter mile including 14 IMCA Late Models for their first of eight Weekly Racing Appearances.

Hometown fans got excited when Darrel DeFrance won the IMCA Late Models meanwhile parents of Tim Ward was happy to hear he picked up the Modifieds on Friday Night. Damon Murty took Stock Cars, Travis Peterson in SportMods, Eric Stanton remains perfect in Hobby Stocks and Joe Glick won Mod Lites.

First feature of the night was the 12 lap Mod Lites feature event and it was "Huggie Bear" Joel Huggins taking the early lead but Joe Glick took the spot away on lap three. Glick and Huggins ran one and two until a caution came out just after the completion of lap six for Justin Rankin and Larry Sorenson in turns one and two. Rankin spun and Sorenson tried to avoid contact but clipped the front bumper sending Sorenson rolling, both would exit from their cars. Glick did not let that faze him as he would lead the remaining laps and take win number two at MoTown. Mike Morrill came home in runner up spot with Randy Bryan in third, Huggins in fourth and Kevin Grisham in fifth.

Neil Follett led the first two laps in the IMCA SportMods 18 lap feature before Travis Peterson took the spot away on lap three. Peterson pulled away but the only caution came out on lap 15 when Andy Edwards spun in turn two forcing a three lap shootout to the finish. Peterson held off any challenge to take his first win at Marshalltown. Sam Wieben, Cory Rose, Jared VanDeest and Ethan Braaksma rounded out the top five.

In the IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature, it was Tyson Overton grabbing early lead but Ryan Grochala, regular at the Iowa State Fair Speedway, worked his way from tenth starting spot to take the top spot on lap four. Grochala was followed by August Bach to the number two spot and then a caution came out on lap eight for Overton going off the top side of turn one and two. Grochala, Bach and Eric Stanton restarted top three and it was Grochala holding on the top spot but another caution came out on lap 11 for David Simpson in turn two. Stanton moved pass Bach for second and began to challenge Grochala for the lead but Grochala held off Stanton until coming out of turn four to the checkered as Stanton edged out Grochala to remain perfect on the regular season at Marshalltown. Bach was third, Gary Pfantz was fourth and Dustin Graham was fifth.

Matt Deaton wrestled the lead away from Kevin Balmer in the IMCA Stock Cars 20 lap feature event but it was Steve Meyer taking the lead away on lap five, meanwhile last week's feature winner Jeff Wollam was working his way back through the field after he slipped back to 13th.  Meyer began to contend with Tuesday's Winner Damon Murty and held Murty off until lap 13 when Murty took the lead away. Murty went on to win 203rd career IMCA Stock Car feature win ahead of Steve Meyer, Tyler Pickett, Jeff Wollam and Donavon Smith.

Eric Elliott took advantage of his front row starting position as he grabbed the early lead in the 20 lap IMCA Modifieds feature event but the caution came out on lap two for Tyler Gross going off the top side of turn two. Elliott and the field saw the caution come out again on lap three for Rod Clement coming to a stop on the run off road and then on lap six for Austin Emry in turn four. Elliott saw Tom Berry Jr and Jenae Gustin on his back bumper on the restart and he was able to hold them off but Harcourt's Tim Ward wrestled the lead away from Elliott on lap nine. Ward cruised on to the easy win making his parents happy back home in Chandler, Arizona. Richie Gustin finished in the runner up spot, Berry was third. Elliott fell back to fourth and Jacob Murray was fifth.

Final feature of the night was the 25 lap IMCA Late Models feature event and it was hometown favorite Darrel DeFrance redrawing the pole and he took advantage but was slowed early when the only caution came out on lap three for Mark Hurst, Dirk Hamilton and Kyle Krampe in turn four. DeFrance got a great restart and pulled away never being challenged the remaining 22 laps as he took the win in front of his hometown fans. Jerry King came home second, Justin Mitchell was third, Paul Nagle was fourth and Curtis Glover was fifth.

Racing action finished up at 9:40pm with thunderstorms north of the speedway. Racing continues at Marshalltown Next Friday Night meanwhile the IMCA Late Models make their next appearance on Friday July 1st.

by Jeremy Fox

Oskaloosa, Iowa (June 8th, 2016) - Wednesday Night the 56 cars checked in to tame the monster half mile on Pro-Line Building Night and the fans were treated with other entertaiment as drivers took part in wheel barrow races on the front stretch for extra prizes from Pro-Line Building Company of New Sharon.

Cayden Carter continues his streak in the IMCA Stock Cars meanwhile Danny Thrasher (IMCA Hobby Stocks) gets win number one of weekly action. Other feature winners was Curtis VanDerWal (IMCA SportMods), Ryan Havel (IMCA Sport Compacts) and Colt Mather (IMCA Modifieds)

First feature of the night was the ten lap IMCA Sport Compacts feature and it would be John Whalen grabbing the top spot on lap one and Whalen led until lap six when tenth place starter Ryan Havel took the lead away. Havel went on to take the win but held off a late race challenge from Shane Evans. John Gill grabbed third away from Whalen and Jason Breuklander finished fifth.

Bobby Greene grabbed the lead on lap one of the Pespi Cola IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature event but on lap two, Greene came to a stop in turn three forcing the caution come out just after Jamie Songer was scored as the leader. Songer and the field saw the caution come out again on lap three for Kelsie Spilman in turn four. Songer had Bill Bonnett and August Bach right behind him on the restart and it was Bonnett taking the top spot on lap six. Bonnett continued to lead until the white flag came out when Danny Thrasher made the pass and went on to take the win. Dustin Griffiths managed to edge out Bonnett to the line for second. Nick Ulin and Travis Bunnell rounded out top five.

Up next was the 18 lap Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars feature event and it was Nathan Wood leading lap one but Louis Lynch wrestled it away on lap two. Lynch and Wood battled for the lead and it was Wood grabbing the lead back on lap four. Wood appeared to be heading on to the win when Cayden Carter chased him down and took the lead away from Wood. Wood tried to make several challenges to get by Carter but Carter was not to be denied win number six in a row keeping him perfect on the regular season. Wood, Lynch, Todd Reitzler and Donnie Pearson finished second through fifth respectively

Rust Goes Two for Two on HDT and Guss Takes Deery Win at Motown

Rust Goes Two for Two on HDT and Guss Take Deery Win at Motown
by Jeremy Fox

Marshalltown, Iowa (June 7th, 2016) - For the first time ever at the Marshalltown Speedway, both the Deery Brothers Summer Series and Hawkeye Dirt Tour raced the same night. Deery Brothers Summer Series was making their 25th visit to the high-banked quarter mile and the Hawkeye Dirt Tour making their first visit since September 2012 and their fifth appearance all together.

39 IMCA Modifieds checked in for race number two for the Hawkeye Dirt Tour, 33 IMCA Late Models checked in for race number five  of the Deery Brothers Summer Series and they were joined by 14 IMCA Stock Cars for Tuesday Night's Special.

The only major mishap in the heats and b-features was in the 1st late model b-main when Todd Cooney went for a tumble off the top side of turn one, Cooney was okay just a little winded and the car had severe damage.

After all that the redraw for the Late Models occured on the front stretch and it was Joel Callahan getting the number one box and Ray Guss Jr getting the number two box. At the same time the Modifieds redraw was taking place in the pits and it was Scott Davis and Jimmy Gustin drawing one and two respectively.

First feature of the night was the 20 lap IMCA Stock Car feature event and they lived up to the nickname of Class to Tough To Tame. Robbie Merkle and Jerry Schipper led the field to the green but it was Tyler Pickett leading the first two laps. Pickett and Jay Schmidt battled for the top spot with Schmidt leading laps three through five. Pickett edged out Schmidt on lap six but Schmidt edged out Pickett on lap seven. Schmidt and Pickett swaped the lead again on lap ten before Damon Murty joined in the battle and it was Murty taking the top spot away on lap 12. Murty held off several challenges from Schmidt to take his 202nd career IMCA Stock Car win. Schmidt finished second, Pickett was third, Last Friday's Winner Jeff Wollam finished fourth and Dave Atcher was fifth.

Scott Davis and Jimmy Gustin led the field in the 30 lap Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds feature event but it was the power of 26 as Brian Irvine and Joel Rust took the top spot early with Irvine out front leading. Irvine held off the challenges early from Rust but Rust was finally successful making the pass on lap eight. Rust and Irvine saw the only race caution come out on lap 12 when two heavy hitters, Jimmy Gusti and Ricky Thornton Jr got together in turn one. Rust and Irvine remained out front and battled for the top spot the rest of the way. Rust held off Irvine to make it two for two on the season in the Hawkeye Dirt Tour. Irvine finished second ahead of tenth place starter Kyle Brown, twelveth place starter Jacob Murray and 22nd place starter Richie Gustin Jr.

Up next was the ten lap Deery Brothers Summer Series Malvern Bank Non-Qualifer Dash for Cash and it was Veteran Greg Kastli leading from start-to-finish taking home $300 for his win. Ben Seemann finished second, Kip Siems was third, Mark Hurst was fourth and Randy Havlik was fifth.

The final race of the night was the Miller Lite 50 for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models. Before a lap was completed the caution came out when Chad Holladay spun in turn two. When the race got going it was Joel Callahan leading lap one but that was short lived as Ray Guss Jr took the top spot away on lap two. Guss began to pull away and started to encounter lap traffic just as the caution came out on lap 19 for Jason Rauen coming to a stop in turn one. The caution was displayed for the final time on the restart when Scott Fitzpatrick came to a rest. Guss was not going to let that bother him as he got a great restart and pulled away, only lap traffic slowed him down but it was not enough for anybody to beat him as he would take his 31st career Deery Brothers Summer Series victory and third win at Marshalltown. Tyler Droste came home in second place and Ryan Dolan finished third. Joel Callahan and Cayden Carter rounded out the top five.

This Friday Night at the Marshalltown Speedway its Karl Performance / Casey's General Stores Night with the first of eight appearances for the IMCA Late Models this season. Also racing is the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Hobby Stocks and MADCRA Mod Lites. Hot Laps at 7pm and Racing to Follow.

Next up for the Hawkeye Dirt Tour is a visit to the Kossuth County Speedway in Algona on Thursday Night along with the Weekly Points Night for Stock Cars, SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts. Hot Laps at 6:15pm and Racing to Follow. Then next Tuesday Night at West Liberty Raceway.

Seven Different Winners in Eight Features at Benton County Speedway

Seven Differents Winners in Eight Features at Benton County Speedway
by Jeremy Fox

Vinton, Iowa (June 5th, 2016) - Sunday Night was action packed night of racing at the Benton County Speedway because there was three additional features from last week's doubleheader racing weekend. BCS Micro Mods feature from Monday's show and both, Stock Cars and SportMods features from Sunday's show. All the racing action was completed just under three hours.

Don Erger sweeps the Micro Mods, Scott Pippert and Bob Ahrendsen win Stock Cars. Matt Petrezelka and Danny Dvorak win SportMods, Adam Petrezelka win Hobby Stocks and Scott  Hogan wins Modifieds.

First feature was the make-up Micro Mod feature and after the initial start was called back, it was Scott Beatty grabbing the top spot early. Beatty led until veteran Don Erger took the top spot away on lap four. Erger did not look back going on to take his fifth win at BCS. Russ Olson, Dallon Murty, Beatty and Cole McNeal rounded out the top five.

SportMods make-up feature was next but before a single lap was scored the only caution came out when Mike Mitchell, Christian Jordan and Ryan Walker got together in turn one. On the restart, it was Dakoda Sellers taking the lead from his outside front row starting spot but Matt Petrezelka followed him to the second spot and it was Petrezelka taking the lead away on lap two. Petrezelka would lead the remaining laps to take his first win at BCS this season. Tony Olson worked his way up to finish second, Danny Dvorak was third, Gage Neal was fourth and Kyle Olson was fifth.

Curtis Roster led early in the IMCA Stock Cars make-up feauture but Scott Pippert made the pass and cruised on to the win ahead of John Oliver, Damon Murty, Norman Chesmore and Justin Stander.

After all the heat races where completed it was time for the first of the original night features and it would be the 15 lap IMCA Hobby Stocks Feature. Kyle Dulin took lead on lap one but Matt Petrezelka took the top spot away on lap two. The caution came out on laps three for Tim Harther in turn three and then on lap five for Dulin in turn two and Matt Brown in turn one. Petrezelka was not going to let those bother him but he had late race challenges from August Bach, Nathan Ballard and Brett Vanous. Petrezelka held them off for the win ahead of Bach, Ballard, Vanous and Justin Wacha.

Up next was the 20 lap IMCA Modifieds feature event and it was Waterloo's Brennen Chipp leading the first three laps before Vinton's own Scott Hogan took the lead away on lap four and never looked back getting his first win in Vinton of 2016. Patrick Flannagan tried to get by Hogan but settled for second, JD Auringer settled for third, Joe Docekal was fourth and Ronn Lauritzen was fifth.

Don Erger started outside row two but by lap one, he was leading the BCS Micro Mod feature event. Only that slowed Erger from getting win number six was a caution on lap six for Dallon Murty in turn one and lap 11 for Matthew West in turn four. Matt Post, Cole McNeal, Scott Beatty and Murty rounded out the top five.

Mitch Manternach wrestled the lead away early from other front row starter Gage Neal in the 16 lap IMCA SportMod feature event. Manternach looked confortable out front but then the caution came on lap seven for Christian Jordan and then again on lap eight for Ryan Walker in turn two and Ryan King off the top of turn four. Manternach was pressured by Joey Schaefer, Neal, Danny Dvorak and Tony Olson and just after the completion of lap ten coming to complete lap 11, Manternach spun coming out of turn four handing the lead over to Dvorak, who was second at the time. The caution came out on the restart for Scott Meyers and then again for Meyers on lap 12. Dvorak held off Schaefer, Olson, Neal and Kevin Hurst to take first win in Vinton this season.

Final feature of the night was the IMCA Stock Cars feature and it was Curtis Roster leading the first two laps before Austin Evens took the lead away on lap three. Evens saw Bob Ahrendsen come up and complete the pass for the lead on lap seven though. Ahrendsen seemed to be crusing on to the easy win but the caution came out on lap 14 for Mike Galli off the top of turn three. Ahrendsen saw Jay Schmidt, Evens and Scott Pippert behind him and Ahrendsen was successful holding them off to take win number two at Vinton. Evens, Schmidt, Pippert and Norman Chesmore finished second through fifth respectively.

Racing action continues next sunday at the Benton County Speedway with the Iowa Donor Network and Urbana Five Memorial Night with Extra Money on the line in all five classes. Hot Laps at 6pm with Racing to Follow.

Stovall and Repeat Winners Dominate at Osky

Stovall and Repeat Winners Dominate at Osky
By Jeremy Fox

Oskaloosa, Iowa (June 2nd, 2016)
- No racing occur on Wednesday at the Southern Iowa Speedway this week because the speedway hosted Thursday Night Thunder featuring the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models. All five IMCA divisions on the card for a Weekly Points Night. The Night was sponsored by Shawn's Hay Grinding, Supreme Lawn & Landscape, KBOE Radio, Pepsi Mahaska Bottling, Ulrich Ford, Vanderbeek Truck Accessories, Tom & Cindy Drost, Dynamic Drivelines and Bill and Ray's Truck Repair & Wrecker Service.

Jesse Stovall won the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models meanwhile Cayden Carter remains perfect on weekly racing action in the IMCA Stock Cars. Other feature winners were all repeat winners and they included Curtis VanDerWal (IMCA SportMods), Dustin Griffiths (IMCA Hobby Stocks), Bill Whalen (IMCA Sport Compacts) and Ricky Thornton Jr (IMCA Modifieds).

First feature of the night was the ten lap IMCA Sport Compacts feature. Bill Whalen Jr wrestled the lead from Shane Evans on lap one but the caution came out on lap three for Cody VanDusen coming to a stop in turn two. Whalen had to battle with Evans and seventh place starter Brad Havel, Havel took second and grabbed the top spot on lap five. Havel and Whalen than dueled it out for the race the lead and it was the driver nicknamed "Happy Feet" taking the lead back on lap nine. Whalen went on to take his second win of the season at Osky ahead of Evans, Havel, John Gill and Lincoln Schrock.

Up next was the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models 30 lap feature event and the top 16 cars were lined up based on passing points. Jesse Stovall and Jordan Yaggy started on the front row and it was Stovall taking advantage and pulling away but the first caution came out on lap eight for Jay Johnson coming to a rest on the backstretch. That did not bother Stovall because he got great restart and had a big lead only to see it wiped away when another caution was displayed on lap 17 for Dave Eckrich in turn one. Stovall got another great restart but with five laps to go when some smoke began to come out of Stovall machine just as he was encountering lap traffic, that allowed Yaggy and Rodney Sanders to get within a few car lengths but Stovall held on to take the win. Yaggy finished second, Sanders was third, Chad Simpson was fourth and Jimmy Mars was fifth.

After initial pole sitter Taylor Elliott opted to go to the tail that meant Trent Brink and Brett Lowry set the pace of the 16 lap KBOE Radio IMCA SportMod feature event and it was Lowry taking the lead early. Lowry maintained the lead until a pair of cautions came out on lap eight for Colton Livezey spinning on frontstretch and on lap nine for Danny Brau in turn one. Lowry now had to contend with Curtis VanDerWal but Lowry seemed to be no match as VanDerWal took the lead away and would go on to take his third win of the season at Osky. Lowry ran second, Carter VanDenBerg started ninth and came home third. Jason McDaniel and Matthew Van Gelder round out the top five.

Cayden Carter redrew the pole for the 16 lap Budweiser IMCA Stock Cars feature event but had to wait to take advantage as the caution came out on the initial start when Greg Gill spun exiting turn four. Carter jumped out to the lead ahead of Derrick Agee and Nathan Wood. Carter went on to take his fifth consecutive win at Osky, keeping him perfect on weekly racing competition. Wood, Agee, Mike Hughes and Todd Reitzler finished second through fifth respectively.

Danny Thrasher led the opening lap of the 15 lap Pepsi Cola IMCA Hobby Stocks feature but shortly after the caution came out when Christian Huffman spun in turn four. Thrasher saw Brad Stephens and Dustin Griffiths behind him on the restart but continued to hold them off until Griffith was able to edge out Thrasher at the line on lap six. The caution came out on lap seven for Jared Stephens coming to a stop against the turn two wall. Griffiths got a great restart and went on to take his fourth win in a row at Osky. Brad Stephens held off challenges from Bill Bonnett for second. Thrasher came across in fourth and Jamie Songer was fifth.

Final feature of the night was the Musco Lighting IMCA Modifieds 20 lap feature event. Hunter Marriott grabbed the lead on lap one but it was fourth place starter Colt Mather taking the top spot away on lap two. Mather looked to be heading toward victory meanwhile Ricky Thornton Jr took second away from Marriott on lap eight, Thornton set his sights on getting be Mather and Thornton would do just that on lap 14. Thornton led the remaining laps to go on and take his third win at Osky. Mather finished second, Richie Gustin was third, Jacob Murray was fourth and Hunter Marriott was fifth.
