Racing season is getting closer and closer. Fans, Drivers and Promotors are ready to see racing action begin and trying to find ways to make money and save money during these tough economical times to be able to enjoy what they love. Drivers are getting there race cars finished up and firing up those engines to get ready to go. Drivers and Promotors are trying to fill all the sponsors during these tough times! We all agree that this nice weather that we are having is helping get the tracks ready to go for the racing season.
It feels like forever since the last race in the state of iowa or nebraska and now we are finally here because this weekend many drivers are making the trek to the Beatrice Speedway in Beatrice, Nebraska for the 16th Annual IMCA Modifieds Spring Nationals. This thursday Night (March 19) there is a practice session for all classes from 6-9 pm and then the racing action happens friday night (march 20), saturday night (march 21) and sunday afternoon (march 22). on Friday Night, the IMCA Modifieds run for $1000 to win--$100 to start the a-main and IMCA Sport Mods run for $300 to win---$75 to start the a-main, pits open at 4:30pm, hot laps at 6 pm and racing at 7:30 pm. On saturday night, the IMCA Modifieds run for $1500 to win--$150 to start the a-main, IMCA Sport Mods and IMCA Hobby Stocks each run for $300 to win--$75 to start the a-main, pits open at 2:30 pm, hot laps at 4:30 pm and racing at 6 pm. On sunday afternoon, the IMCA Modifieds run for $2000 to win---$250 to start the a-main, IMCA Hobby Stocks run for $300 to win---$75 to start the a-main, IMCA Sport Compacts run for $200 to win and Factory Stocks run for $300 to win, pits open at 1 pm and racing at 3 pm. Pit Passes are $10 for Thursday's practice and $25 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Grandstands will be $12 on Friday and Saturday for adults and $14 on Sunday for adults, Kids 10 and under will be $5 all 3 days of racing action!
Next week the mud starts flying unofficial in iowa as we have practice sessions in des moines and marshalltown and a car show in marshalltown. The weekend kicks off with race cars rolling in to the Marshall Town Center in Marshalltown thursday night march 26 after the mall closes and then fans can come few all the race cars that are on display Friday March 27, Saturday March 28 all day and then Sunday March 29 until 5 pm. then the cars will be rolled out of the marshall town center at 5 pm, where there will be a parade of race cars from the mall to the race track for the practice session from 6-9 pm. Des moines will have a practice session on saturday march 28 from 12 to 3 pm and then the Iowa enduro series race from 4-7 pm.
Then the racing action begins with a tripleheader frostbuster in marshalltown, webster city and vinton, super nationals shakedown in boone, frostbuster season openers in algona and mason city and spring thaw/razor rumble at the park at park jefferson, south dakota! I will preview those after the car show and practice in marshalltown where also I will give you some brief results from beatrice.
