A Great Night of Racing at the Marshalltown Speedway

Well after fighting mother nature the past 2 weeks and losing this week, we wouldn't have that problem as we would have some great 3 or 4 wide racing action. There was a 106 cars signed in too do battle on Johnny Ray's Sports Bar & Grille Night at the Races.

In the O'Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites 15 lap feature before we could get 1 lap in the books the caution would come out for Chase Ellingson coming to a rest on the frontstretch. On the restart though it was Dusty Masolini taking control and lead the first 2 laps but on lap 3, Masolini would have to battle with Josh May and May would win that battle and take the lead. Shortly after that the caution came out for a 2nd time this time for Michael Parcel coming to a stop in turn 2. May would resume command but the field would see another caution on lap 5 when Tim Hennigar lost the handle in turn 2. May wouldn't let them bother him as he would only have to worry about lap traffic. May  would take the win with Mike Morrill in 2nd, Joel Huggins in 3rd, Andy Hennigar in 4th and Randy Bryan in 5th.

The Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Sport Mods were next it took 4 heats and a b-feature to dwindle the field down from 31 cars to 24 cars for the feature. Nick Roberts would lead lap 1 but Racer Hulin would come back and take the lead on lap 2. Hulin would continue to hold the top spot until Roberts made the pass for the lead on lap 5. Roberts would hold that spot until lap 8 when Jake Strayer would take the top spot. The only caution in the 15 lap feature came out on lap 9 for Zac Backer coming to a stop in turn 2. Strayer would not let that bother him as he would go on and take the win with Joel Rust, Racer Hulin, Cayden Carter and Austin Lucas rounding out the top 5.

Mike's Hard Lemonade IMCA Stock Cars feature would not disappoint anyone. Jay Schmidt would take the early lead and just as he would start to pull away 2 cautions would come out first on lap 3 and then lap 5. So on the restart after the cauton on lap 5, Schmidt would have Steve Meyer and Trent Murphy right behind him. Schmidt would hold the lead for a few more laps but then lose the handle which allowed Trent Murphy to get by. The next caution would come out on lap 10 for a couple of cars sitting in turn 2. Murphy and Meyer would only begin doing battle for the top spot when the race resumed and it was 2 close to call every lap. Then after the white flag came out a car would come to a rest in turn 2 so this would bring out the final time meaning the feature would go 19 laps instead of 18 laps now but when it was done it was Trent Murphy taking the win, Steve Meyer was 2nd, Tracy Gienger was 3rd, Damon Murty was 4th and Michael Jaennette was 5th.

The Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds would also not disappoint the fans as it would be an exciting 20 lap feature. Todd Conrad would take the lead and look to be pulling away but then the only race caution came out on lap 7 when a car went of the top of turn 1. Conrad would now have Richie Gustin, Jimmy Gustin and Adam Larson sitting right behind him, Larson was on impressive run as he started 14th and was up to 4th in only 7 laps. Jimmy Gustin would have a great restart and make the pass on Conrad on lap 9 but Jimmy Gustin's lead wouldn't las long as Adam Larson would make the pass for the lead on lap 12 and go on and take the win. Jimmy Gustin was 2nd, Richie Gustin was 3rd, Todd Conrad was 4th and Jon Snyder was 5th.

The final feature was the IMCA Hobby Stocks for 12 laps and it was Mike Vibbard leading the first 5 laps but then Eric Knutson would get by on lap 6. Knutson lead was short lived though as he was passed by Michael Murphy. Murphy and Knutson would do battle for the lead and Knutson would regain the lead on lap 11. After that happened the caution would come out for a car coming to a rest in turn 2. Knutson wouldn't let that spoil it for him as he would go on and take the win, Murphy, Vibbard, Kevin Fee and Matt Hedspeth rounding out the top 5.

The final checkered flag was waved at 10p putting another night of racing to rest. Next Friday Night will be KMJ Performance Night at the Races with pits opening at 5:15p, Grandstands at 5:30p, Hot Laps at 6:45p and Racing at 7p!

Pippert, Miedke, Dvorak, Buhlman, Temeyer and Olson Win at the Benton County Speedway

Well after friday night was a rain out at Marshalltown and my 2nd option of Des Moines and because i had a family easter to attend on saturday i decided to make the trek to the Benton County Speedway in Vinton for a weekly night of competition.

I arrived right as hot laps were beginning at 5p, Racing started at 5:25p and ended at 7:57p with 102  cars signed in to do battle in 5 classes.

First up was the IMCA Hobby Stocks for their 15 lap feature and before 1 lap could get completed Justin Stander would go off turn 2 to bringing out the yellow meaning a complete restart. Russell Damme Jr would lead the first 5 laps but be passed by Nathan Ballard on lap 6. Ballard would hold the top spot until he was passed by Scott Pippert on lap 14. Pippert would go on to the win, Ballard was 2nd, Vince Buchholz was 3rd, Bill Bonnett was 4th and Russell Damme Jr was 5th.

Next up was the IMCA Sport Compacts for a 12 lap feature. Bill Whalen Jr would take the lead right away but just shortly after the completion of 1 lap the caution came out for Brett Vanous and Ross Kitner getting together on the backstretch. Whalen still resumed command but it wouldn't last long as Steve Miedke would make the pass on Whalen on lap 4 to take over the lead. The 2nd race caution came out when Kevin Mortimer lost a wheel and was unable to get off the track. The final race caution came out 2 laps later for debris on the frontstretch. Miedke would take the win with Bill Whalen Jr, Tyler Whalen, Adam Gates and Travis Losenicky rounding out the top 5.

There was 31 IMCA Sport Mods signed in so they split them up into 2 feature events. In Feature #1 it was Jason Doyle taking command early but after 2 laps were in the books the caution came out for Sean Vogt coming to a stop in turn 3. Doyle would resume command but hometown hero Danny Dvorak was coming and would take the lead on lap 12 and go on to the win meanwhile Doyle would go off the track and come back on but fall back to 6th. Kurt Hogan, Curt Hilmer, Drew Fish and Dave McCalla finishing 2nd through 5th.

In Sport Mod feature #2 it was Jim Buhlman taking control early and not looking back despite 3 cautions in the early going. The first caution on lap 2 for James T spining on the frontstretch, the 2nd caution on lap 4 for Mike McDonald, Casey Jones and James T spinning in turn 3. The final race caution on lap 5 for Scott Siems in turn 2. Buhlman would let any of them or late race challenges by Joel Rust and Jake Strayer take the win away. Finishing behind Buhlman was Jake Strayer, Joel Rust, John Schulze and Kyle Olson.

IMCA Stock Cars 15 lap feature was up next and Rick Galli would take the early lead but then after 2 laps was in the books the only race caution would come out on lap 2 for Austin Evans, Roger Ciesielski and Todd Reitzler in turn 2. On the restart Galli would have to battle with Justin Temeyer and Norman Chesmore and Temeyer would take the lead on lap 3. Temeyer would have to battle with Chesmore the rest of the way but go on and take the win, Chesmore would take 2nd. Behind Temeyer and Chesmore it was Phillip Holtz, Bob Ahrendsen and Paul Shepherd.

The final feature of the night was the 20 lap IMCA Modified feature.  It was Tony Olson taking advantage of his pole position after the pole position starter Buck Swanson would not make the call. Olson would lead start to finish despite 2 cautions on lap 4 and lap 6. The first caution on lap 4 was for Troy  Cordes in turn 1 and then the 2nd caution on lap 6 for Dawn Krall in turn 4. Olson wouldn't let them affect him and take the win but the real show was being down by Scott Hogan as he would manage to come up and finish 2nd, Joe Docekal was 3rd, Chris Snyder was 4th and Patrick Flannagan was 5th.

That put an end to another great night of racing, next week will start the month of May at the Benton County Speedway in Vinton which includes the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour's first ever appearance on May 10th.

Haverhill Social Club, Vis Racing Night and Racers lending hands to a Family in Need This Friday at Marshalltown

Well after 2 back to back weeks at Marshalltown we are back to the racing action on Friday night for Haverhill Social Club and Vis Racing Night at the Races.

But the real big thing is that a racing team is lending a hand to a family that lost their home to a fire last month.

Local dirt track stock car driver Michael Jaennette from Newton is asking for help. Jaennette gained a new No. 1 fan, 6 year-old Dawn Anderson from Garwin. Little did Jaennette know that Dawn and her father Ray Anderson had recently lost their everything in a house fire just a few weeks ago on March 20th.

So for a little R&R, Dawn suggested to her dad that they go to the races in Marshalltown.

So this Friday Jaennette will be "Racing for Dawn."

In conjunction with the Marshalltown Speedway, Jaennette Racing will be accepting donations Friday beginning at 6 p.m. before the green flag. The team will set up their 42-foot race trailer in the pits at the speedway to donations of gift cards, clothes, toiletries, dishes, furniture or anything.

Also Thanks to Vis Racing who has the VIP Tower for the night, they have decided to give Ray, Dawn and one other person they would like to bring along some Passes to the races and sit in the wonderful VIP Tower.

If you have anything to donate please contact Kristin Carley at 641-521-7822 or Kristen Jaennette at 641-521-2675.

Pit Gates Open at 5:15p, Grandstands Open at 5:30p, Hot Laps at 6:45p, Racing at 7:30p......This is what makes me so proud to be a reporter and this year the co-writer for the Marshalltown Speedway, Racers helping families in need so be there on Friday Night to help as well.

Until Next Time,
Jeremy

The only thing that slowed May was the cautions on lap 7 and 13, the first 1 on lap 7 was for Joel Huggins, Colby Oberembt and Cory Dennis in turn 3 & 4 and the second caution on lap 13 was for Andy Hennigar and Rick Taylor in turn 3 & 4. May would go on to the win with David Schmalzried in 2nd, Jeff Stensland in 3rd, Bryan Zehm in 4th and James May in 5th.

Next up would be the IMCA Sport Mods for 18 laps, it would take 6 heats and 2 b-feautres to dwindle the field down from 45 cars to just 24 cars. It was Randy Roberts from Boone, who got his race car wrapped earlier in the day taking full advantage of his outside front row starting spot as he would go on and lead the feature green-to-checkered in the caution free event. Clint Luellen, Troy Jerovetz, Scott Davis and Kyle Brown would round out the top 5.

IMCA Modifieds were up next for their 20 lap feature. Jamaica's Denny Pittman would take the lead on lap 1 but Luke Wanninger from Jefferson took over the top spot on lap 2. Wanninger would hold the top spot for a while but then the first race caution would come out on lap 10 for debris in turn 1. On the restart Wanninger would have to do battle with Cale Sponsler. Sponsler would take over the lead on lap 12 and then 2 cautions would come out on lap 13. First caution for Joel Bushore, Randy Havlik and Mike Molle in turn 4 and the second caution for Josh Most and Jake Durbin in turn 3 and also for debris in turn 3. Sponsler would resume command only to see the red flag come out on lap 16 when Luke Wanninger would roll his ride in turn 2, Wanninger would be okay. Sponsler would be able to control that and go on to take the win. Todd "Toddzilla" Shute, "Jammin" Jimmy Gustin, Justin Sackett and Russ Dickerson would round out the top 5.

In the IMCA Stock Cars 18 lap feature it was Boone's Eric Brown taking the early lead but after 1 lap was in the books the caution would come out for Butch Bass coming to a stop on the frontstretch. Brown would continue to lead but would have to battle with Randy Killen. Killen would take the lead from Brown on lap 3 and go on to the win. Damon Murty was 2nd, Cory Bushnell was 3rd, Josh Daniels was 4th and Trent Murphy was 5th.

The final feature of the night is the IMCA Hobby Stocks 12 lap feature after 4 heats and a b-feature dwindle the field from 36 cars to 24 cars. Jefferson's Michael Murphy would take full advantage of his pole position as he would lead the feature green-to-checkered in the caution free event.

Racing action continues at Iowa's Action Track every Saturday Night through September with Gates Opening at 5p, Hot Laps at 6:45p and Racing at 7p.

Morrill, Carter, Murty, Snyder and Fee win on Ryan Ashton Racing Season Opener

Well it seems like we start the same way as we do any other friday and that is questioning the weather and weather or not we would be racing. We went racing at the high banked quarter mile race track of the marshalltown speedway like usual with a 134 cars signed in to do battle.

First feature of the night was the O'Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites 15 lap feature. Mike Morrill would redraw the pole for the feature after winning his heat race and he took full advantage of it as he would jump to the early race lead. After the field completed 1 lap the car of John Gardner would spin in turn 2 but Morrill would not let it faze him as he would get a good restart. The only thing that would slow Morrill was the lap traffic as Morrill would go on to the victory. Andy Hennigar would try to make a challenge but it went unsuccessful and would finish 2nd, Colby Oberemebt was 3rd, Randy Bryan was 4th and Joel Huggins was 5th.

After the Mod Lites feature we ran b-features in the other classes but when that was all complete the next feature on the track was the Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Sport Mods for 15 laps. Brad Iverson would take advantage of his pole position as he would take the lead. Iverson would start to pull away but would see the first race caution on lap 6 for debris on the frontstretch. Iverson would still resume command and be out front but another race caution came out on lap 12  for debris so this would bunch up the field and would put the Young Guns of Cayden Carter and Tyler Droste right behind Iverson. Iverson would then have to battle with Carter for the top spot and would be side-by-side a few times. Carter would make the pass on the last lap and take the win with Iverson in 2nd. Tyler Droste, Jared Timmerman and Andy Tiernan rounded out the top 5.

In the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds 20 lap feature it was Mike Wendelstadt from Octonto Falls, Wisconsin taking early command but he would have Jon Snyder right there every lap. The first race caution came out on lap 4 for Josh Most and Andrew Kinser getting together in turn 2. Wendelstadt and Snyder would continue to do battle only to see the caution come out on lap 6 for Jim Harris in turn 3 & 4. Wendelstadt and Snyder would then get back to battling for the lead but would see the caution come out on lap 12 for debris on the track. Wendelstadt would continue to resume command but this time Snyder was able to race side-by-side for the lead and would take the lead on lap 14. Just after Snyder took the lead a caution came out for Josh Most on the front stretch. Snyder would go on to the victory and as he was doing that Richie Gustin came to a stop in turn 1. Finishing behind Snyder was Wendelstadt, Adam Larson, Ronn Lauritzen and David Brown.

The Mike's Hard Lemonade IMCA Stock Cars 18 lap feature would see Sean Johnson take control early and begin to check out. The first race caution on lap 3 for Michael Jeannette, Paul Shepherd, Dale Labette, Jeff Wollam and Rob Henry in turn 1 & 2. Johnson would get a good restart so would Damon Murty and Murty would be coming. Murty would pass Johnson on lap 7. On lap 8 the caution would come out for Kevin Rose slow down the fronstretch and then again on the restart being called back. When the race got restarted it was Murty controlling the race and the only thing that slowed Murty was the final race caution on lap 15 for Tommy Thompson in turn 2. But Murty would still manage to take the win, Johnson was 2nd, Nathan Wood was 3rd, Trent Murphy was 4th and Todd Reitzler was 5th.

Final feature on the night was the IMCA Hobby Stocks 12 lap feature and this feature would go green-to-checkered caution free. Aaron Rudolph would lead the first 7 laps but he was passed by Mark Fee on lap 8. Fee would go on to the win, Rudolph got 2nd. Eric Larson, Richard Yaw III and Russell Damme was 3rd through 5th.

The final checkered flag would come out at 10:45p putting another great night to rest.

Next friday night we are back in action at the Marshalltown Speedway with Haverhill Social Club Night at the Races. Pits gates open at 5:15p, grandstands at 5:30p, Hot Laps at 6:45p and Racing at 7:30p!

Murty, Chandler, Dvorak, Ratajczak and Pippert win the West Edge Auto Salvage Frostbuster!

Well after careful thinking i decided to make the trek to the "Birthplace for IMCA Modifieds" and "Home of IMCA" Benton County Speedway in Vinton for the 3rd and final night of the Tripleheader Frostbuster Weekend presented by West Edge Auto Salvage.

The first feature of the night was the IMCA Stock Cars 15 lap feature and it was "The Chelsea Charger" Damon Murty leading the feature from start to finish in the feature that went green-to-checkered. Jeff Mueller the heat race winner would take 2nd, Paul Shepherd was 3rd, Scooter Dulin was 4th and Bob Ahrendsen was 5th.

IMCA Sport Compacts were up next for 12 lap feature. Travis Losenicky would lead the first lap but be passed by Brett Vanous on lap 2. Vanous would hold on until lap 8 when Brad Chandler would make the pass for the lead. Chandler would go on and take the win in this feature that also went green to checkered. Bill Whalen Jr would take 2nd but afterwards heard it was Nathan Chandler because Whalen wasn't feeling well. Vanous would take 3rd, Dwayne Herb was 4th and the Ageless Merv Chandler was 5th.

The IMCA Sport Mods would then come out for their 15 lap feature. Before they could get 1 lap in the books several cars would get together in turn 3 and 4, the people involved were Brad Iverson, Jeremy Schaufenbuel, Kurt Hogan, Curt Hilmer, Kent Kositzky, Drew Fish and Dave McCalla. So it would go back to a straight up restart with thoses cars going to the tell. "The Big Ticket" Andy Tiernan would take the lead on lap 1 and then we would see 2 cautions. The first caution after 1 lap was in the books was for Schaufenbuel, Fish, Anderson and Mercer on the front stretch, the 2nd caution was for debris in turn 2. Tiernan would lose the lead on lap 3 to Danny Dvorak though. The next caution came out on lap 4 when Jeremy Schaufenbuel came to a stop after a hole was created in the radiator forcing him to blow up. Dvorak would continue to lead despite 4 more cautions lap 7, 10, 11 and 12. The caution on lap 7 was for John Nelson spinning in turn 2, on lap 10 it was for Jody Mitchell stopping on the front stretch, lap 11 when debris fell off of the Curt Hilmer ride and then on lap 12 for the car of Nelson again. Dvorak wouldn't let them faze him as he was able to off several challenges by Austin Kaplan in the end. Dvorak took the win, Kaplan was 2nd, Kurt Hogan was 3rd, Andy Tiernan was 4th and Jim Buhlmann was 5th.

Up next was the IMCA Modifieds for 20 laps and $1,000 to win. It was the "Frog Station Flash" Dan Ratajczak from Wisconsin taking the lead early on. The first caution came out after the completion of a lap for debris in turn 2. Ratajczak would still remain in control, the next race caution came out on lap 4 when Richie Gustin would come to a stop on the front stretch. The next caution came out on lap 11 for debris in turn 2 and the final race caution came out on lap 13 for Dustin Crear coming to a stop in turn 4. Ratajczak had to do battle with Troy Cordes and Scott Hogan and infact would only win by a bumper over Troy Cordes at the line. Behind Ratajczak and Cordes was Hogan, JD Auringer and Shawn Fisher.

The final feature of the night was the IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature. Brad Forbes would take the lead at the start of the race and would hold on until lap 8 despite 2 cautions on lap 4 and 5. The first caution on lap 4 was for Justin Wacha in turn 3 & 4 and then the final race caution on lap 5 when Justin Stander came to a stop on the back stretch. Forbes would be passed on lap 9 by Scott Pippert. Pippert would go on to the win but i can tell you that if there was 1 more lap in the race he might not have because he finished the feature with a flat right rear tire. Forbes would take 2nd, Nathan Ballard was 3rd, Kyle Parizek was 4th and Justin Lichty was 5th.

Racing action came to a finish at 7:07p.

Track points begin at the Benton County Speedway with Fisher Towing Night at the Races. Gates Open at 4p, Hot Laps at 4:30p and Racing at 5p.

Snyder, Smith, Smith and Watson are the Winners at the Boone Speedway Frostbuster

Well after the long night the night before it was time for me to make the annual trek west to the Boone Speedway "Home of Super Nationals" in Boone for the 2nd Night of the Tripleheader Frostbuster Weekend. Along with the IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Sport Mods racing some of the Mod Lites were on hands to get ready for the upcoming season.

Before the features would get going the Mod Lites would have a quick hot lap session and the Mod Lites that were in attendance were 4L Larry Sorenson, 76 Terry Sorenson, 9 Rick Taylor, 09 car, 64 Randy Bryan, 15 Andy Hennigar and 3C Duane Coffman.

The first feature of the night was the IMCA Sport Mod 20 lap feature. Doug Smith would nab the top spot early  on and hold on to the top spot until lap 5 when he was passed by Clint Luellen. Luellen would hold on to the top spot until lap 14 when Smith would take the lead back over. Smith would go on and take the win in the feature that went green to checkered. Luellen was 2nd, Austin Lucas was 3rd, Scott Davis was 4th and Eric Mahlik from Wisconsin was 5th.

IMCA Modifieds were up next for their 25 lap feature. Jon Snyder would take the lead but after 1 lap was in the book the first race caution came out when Davin Emmel would spin out in turn 4. Snyder would continue to lead the field and would see another caution on lap 6 when Mark Elliott, Ed Turnbull and Russ Dickerson got together. That wouldn't faze Snyder because he would remain out front only to see 3 more cautions on lap 9 and 10. There was 2 cautions on lap 9, first for Austin Wolf spinning in turn 2 and then on the restart when Denny Pittman in turn 2. Snyder and the field would get another lap completed before the final race caution came out on lap 10 when Cale Sponsler spun in turn 1 and 2. Snyder would not let them bother him as he would go on and take the win. Jimmy Gustin would take 2nd, Todd Inman was 3rd, Richie Gustin was 4th and Jeremy Mills was 5th.

Next up was the IMCA Stock Cars for their 20 lap feature and it was a track regular at the Independence Motor Speedway "Stormin" Norman Chesmore jumping out to the race lead. Chesmore would lose the lead though on lap 3 to Ryan Rose. Rose and Chesmore would battle and Chesmore would take the lead back over on lap 4 and 5 but then it was time for Donavon Smith start battling with Rose and Chesmore for the lead. Smith would make the pass on lap 8 and the only thing slowing him down was a caution on lap 16 when Stefan Sybesma would spin out in turn 4. Smith would still manage and cruise on to the win, Trent Murphy would end up 2nd, John Heinz was 3rd, Norman Chesmore was 4th and Ryan Rose was 5th.

The final feature of the night was the IMCA Hobby Stocks for their 15 lap feature. It was Boxholm's Tyler Pickett taking the lead on lap 1 but then it was the racing veteran Randy Embrey leading on lap 2. Then the first of 3 cautions came out on lap 2 when Chris Hupp came to a stop on the front stretch. Embrey would have to do battle with Vince Buchholz on the restart and Embrey would lead lap 3 but then it was Buchholz taking the lead. 2nd race caution came out on lap 6 when  Blake Miller would spin in turn 4. Buchholz would remain out front but then on the next lap he would have his throttle stick and go off the top of turn 4 and would bring the caution out on lap 7. So since we techincally didn't have a leader since he went off the top of turn 4, we would see John Watson and Devin Smith battle for the lead. Watson would win that battle and go on and take the win with Smith in 2nd, Cody Nielsen in 3rd, Eric Stanton in 4th and Michael Murphy was 5th.

Racing would come to and end at 10:33p. Tripleheader Frostbuster Weekend would then head off to the Benton County Speedway on Sunday to wrap it up.

Track points begin on Saturday Night April 9th with Pit Gates opening at 5:30p, Grandstands at 6p, Hot Laps at 6:45p, Racing at 7:30p.

May, Sherbon, Schmidt, Gustin and Fee win MoTown's Frostbuster Features

It may have been April Fools Day but we went racing at Marshalltown on Friday Night. Over 220 Cars signed in to do battke in the high banked quarter mile race track, Hot Laps started at 6:30p and because of so many cars the racing action didn't get started until 7:36p on Friday and features didn't get started until shortly before midnight.

The first class to run their feature was the Heartland Challenge Series Mod Lites for 15 Laps. Before 1 Lap could get in the books their would be a wreck in turn 1 and 2 that brought out the red flag as Dusty Masolini would roll but be okay and also getting involved was the Ben Rogers and Jonathan Huston. When the race got going Mike Morrill would take the lead and look to be cruising away but then another caution came out on lap 4 bunching up the field. This caution on lap 4 for Jonathan Huston spinning in turn 2. This put Andy Hennigar on his back bumper on the restart, Morrill and Hennigar would battle for the lead. Hennigar would make the pass on lap 6 and take the lead. 2 laps later the final race caution came out this time for Chase Ellingson spinning in turns 1 and 2. This would put Morrill and Josh May right behind Hennigar. Josh May would take the lead on lap 9 and go on and take the win, Randy Bryan would come up and take 2nd. Morrill was 3rd, Jimmy May was 4th and Hennigar would wind up 5th.

In the IMCA Sport Mods 20 lap feature, It would be "Downtown" Kyle Brown taking the early lead and would be pulling away but the 75 machine of Josh Sherbon was coming and when the only race caution came out on lap 10 for Racer Hulin, Austin Lucas and Nick Roberts all getting together on the frontstretch it would put Sherborn right there. Brown and Sherbon would begin to do battle and Sherbon would make the pass on lap 15 and go on and take the win. Beau Kaplan would get by Brown for 2nd. Jake Strayer was 4th and Austin Kaplan after coming out of a B-feature would finish 5th.

IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature would see a caution come out before 1 lap was completed when Scott Pippert spun in turn 2. When the Race would get going it was John Watson taking the lead but his lead would be short lived as Kevin Fee would take the win.  Only one more race caution would slow the event down and that was for 43 Nic Shearer in turn 3 & 4. Behind Fee was Eric Knutson, Nyle Godwin, Richard Yaw III and Rob Allison.

The IMCA Stock Cars 20 lap feature was next up. Sean Johnson would take the lead on lap 1 but would then be passed by Dave Stricker on lap 2. After Stricker was scored the leader the caution would come out for Steve Meyer and Jeff Wollam in turn 1. Stricker would still hold on to the top spot until lap 6 when Johnson took the lead again. There was 2 cautions though first on lap 4 for Michael Jeannette, Todd Reitzler, Norman Chesmore, Travis Shipman and 38 Dain Sires in turn 2 and then on lap 6 for Michael Jeannette on Run off Road. On lap 8 though it was Jay Schmidt taking the lead, on lap 9 then it was Stricker again. Damon Murty made the pass on lap 10. Johnson took the lead on lap 11, Murty lead laps 12 and 13.Schmidt took the lead back on lap 14 and went on to take the victory. Murty was 2nd, Johnson was 3rd, Stricker was 4th and Trent Murphy was 5th.

Final feature on the night was the IMCA Modifieds 30 lap feature and this feature would go green-to-checkered with a driver very familiar with the speedway lead the entire way. Richie Gustin would lead all 30 laps and the only thing slowing him down was the lap traffic. Finishing behind Gustin was Brian Mullen, Adam Larson, Josh Most and Luke Wanninger.

Racing came to an end at 1:15a. Tripleheader Frostbuster Weeknend continues at Boone Speedway on Saturday and Benton County Speedway in Vinton on Sunday.

Track points begin on Friday Night April 8th with the Ryan Ashton Racing Night, Pit Gates Open at 5:15p, Hot Laps at 6:45p and Racing at 7:30p.
