Some have wondered where i have been or if i was going to write another blog, just trying to line things up for the 2014 racing season. Trying to collect all the race tracks and racing series schedules to but together in my Trackside Report Schedule Book, working at racing events and chilling with family and enjoy valuable family time during the cold months because once racing season starts up again here in Iowa you will find me at all the races at Southern Iowa Speedway and Marshalltown Speedway, Most of the races for the Heartland Kart Tour and all but one race at Stuart Speedway. Some Deery Brothers Summer Series Races, Hawkeye Dirt Tour Races, USMTS Races and Big Specials around the area and i am sure you will find a recap written here.
Since the beginning of the year i have attended the Battle at the Barn in Des Moines and announced at two Thunder Dome Races along with being at several Basketball games.
Hopefully a Warmer for Good is Near, We all can enjoy some great dirt flying!

Thunder Dome Race Number 6 Recap
Marshalltown, Iowa (February 24th, 2014) – Thunder Dome return from a two month hiatus three weeks ago but we returned to the Thunder Dome on Saturday for the sixth race of eight race schedule. First race in back to back weeks.
First Feature of the day was the Restricted Box Stocks which for the second race in a row saw two entries. Just like she did three weeks ago it was young Sadie James leading from start-to-finish over Carter "C-Bob The Heart Throb" Kruse.
Jaxton "JP" Strawn was the only Kid Kart on the day so he claimed the checkered and win.
Open four Cycles saw only one entry as well and that was Jesse Johnson from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin so he claimed the victory.
In the Pro-Am Bike it was Brandon Webster grabbing the whole shot victory over Promoter Brian Kauffman. Kauffman was not scheduled to compete but took the place of Clayton Webster, who scratched for the day when he spun out in hot laps.
In the Quad C Trophy Class it was Jeremy Polson grabbing the lead and never looking back to take the win. Jamie Gilbert finished second and Reed Little was third.
Rookie Beginners had only two entries on the day but they both got tore up during the second round of heat races so they never came out for the feature but the two karts where the "Little Flying Deuce" Chase Atcher and Kylie Adkins.
Jr. Quads Beginners (0-90cc) had a total of eight entries so they were split into two races. First feature saw Davontae Polson grab the lead and go on to the win. Carter "C-Bob The Heart Throb" Kruse was second, Jackson Misel was third, Jackson Brown was fourth and Kole Brandt was fifth.
The Second Feature saw Brody Northway grab the win over Ashton Gilbert. Only entry not able to make the call in the Beginner division was of Lily Pike.
In the Advanced class (0-125cc), it was Tristan Rethmier getting the wholeshot win over Gavin McCrory.
Mad Dogg Bikes saw Zach Hovell grab the lead early but it was Promoter Brian Kauffman taking the lead away late. Kauffman grabbed the win and Hovell was second.
Up next was the Jr One Amateur division and it was Cale Heideman from Mineral Point, Wisconsin leading all ten laps over Seth Stacy.
First time this year, the Jr. Bike division saw more then one entry. Outcome was still the same as it was Young Kaden Kauffman dominating day over Dalton Hampton.
Quad B feature saw Brandon Gillette lead the entire race over Travis Brandt and Ricky Onofre. Jamie Gilbert was unable to make the call for the feature.
Jr One Medium feature was a feature that seemed like a race of expensive bumper cars as they all were racing hard from the start to finish. Blaise Watters from Mineral Point, Wisconsin grabbed lead early and lead until the first race caution. On lap nine the caution came out when Dallon Murty and Watters made contact sending them both around in turn two. Both were sent to the tail that handed the lead over to McKinzie Culbertson the lead. On the restart, though Brady Kohrs experience troubles in turn four. Culbertson and field was able to resume the race but it was Watters grabbing the lead back late. Culbertson settled for second, Murty was third, Kohrs was fourth and Amy Thomas rounded out the top five.
Clone Heavy division only saw seven entries and it was pretty clean race. John Carr lead the entire 15 laps. Chris Burke came home second, Jared Daggett was third, Points Leader Albert Wolfgram was fourth and Clair Messer was fifth.
Final feature of the day was the Quad A Feature. Travis Brandt grabbed the win over Ricky Onofre, Daniel Hollingsworth, Brandon Gillette and Tyler Rager.
Next race inside the Thunder Dome will be This Saturday March 1st at the Central Iowa Fairgrounds in Marshalltown. Then our season finale, The Smokin' Smoe Memorial, on Saturday March 22nd. Gates Open at 9:00 am, Sign-In from nine to 11:30 am, Drivers Meeting at 11:45 am, Hot Laps at Noon and Racing to Follow. Pit Pass is Fifteen dollars for all Adults and Kids (8 & Under Participant), meanwhile Kids (8 & Under non-participant) are Free.
