The final regular season night of racing at the Southern Iowa
Speedway sponsored by KBOE 104.9FM & Pepsi-Cola to ended on a great
season with Mike VanGendren & the Southern Iowa Fairboard promoting
races under the IMCA sanctioning. With many added things with prizes,
contests and even new classes coming to run that had never run at the
Mahaska County Monster. An added attraction for the night was the MADCRA
Mod Lite division which ran for the first time ever on the Monster
Half-Mile.
All of the IMCA classes, ran heats and started via the invert system
as they do each week. Some tracks choose to start the features “straight
up” by points on Season Championship night, but that was not the case
at the Southern Iowa Speedway. Each class was brought to the front
stretch for driver introductions prior to their feature event. That is
always a feature that we really appreciate. Not only for us as fans, but
that the drivers get a little extra recognition.
The Pyramid Graphics and Sports IMCA SportMods feature was up first and it was Brayton Carter taking force and leading the first 13 laps before he would be chased down and passed by Curtis Vanderwal from Oskaloosa Vanderwal would take the lead on lap 14 and go on and take his 2nd win of the season at Osky but fall short in the track championship. Carter would end up 2nd, Track Champion Jesse Sobbing was 3rd, Carter Vandenberg was 4th and Eric Flander was 5th.
In the Autocrafters/Whalen Racing IMCA Sport Compacts it was a Whalen Show as Bill Whalen Jr would lead the first 4 laps and his brother John Whalen leading the last 4 laps. John Whalen would take his first win of the year at Osky meanwhile Bill Whalen would get passed by Track Champion Merv Chandler for 2nd on the last lap. Anthony Cassat was 4th and Cory Howk was 5th.
Eight IMCA Modifieds were on hand for the final night of points racing,
but two cars “gave up the ghost” before they could even compete and the drivers falling victim were Jeff Waterman and Jason Reigel. In the feature though it would be Dakota Hayden leading from start to finish in the 12 lap feature to take his first career IMCA Modified win. Brandon Banks was 2nd, Jacob Murray was 3rd, Andrew Schroeder was 4th and Mark Widmar was 5th. Cayden Carter experience some issues before taking the green but would claim the track championship in his rookie season.
MADCRA Mod Lites would make a special visit to the big 1/2 mile and it was a show between Mike Morrill and Josh May. Morrill would lead the first 10 laps before it was Josh May taking the lead on lap 11. May would pull away and take the win with Morrill in 2nd. Andy Hennigar, Randy Bryan and Dusty Masolini would round out top 5.
Todd Phillips would take the early lead in the Carter Manufacturing IMCA Stock Cars feature and would see the yellow fly once on lap 4 for Michael Bilyeu stopping on the back stretch and then again on lap 11 when Rich Vogt would experience some troubles, Shane Weller would spin and get hit by Michael Bilyeu all of their nights. Phillips would now have to deal with Damon Murty and Corey Stout, Murty would grab the lead away from Phillips coming to the white flag and going on to take the win. Phillips was 2nd, Stout was 3rd, Nathan Wood was 4th and Todd Reitzler was 5th. Matt Greiner would finish 6th and claim the track championship.
The final feature of the night was the Tracy Elevator IMCA Hobby Stocks feature and it was Justin Hook taking the early lead. The first caution would come out when Track Champion Shannon Anderson would spin in turn 2 in front of the field Hook would have to deal with Mike Hughes and it would be Hughes grabbing the lead on lap 6. Hughes would lead until Dustin Griffiths would work his way up to grab the lead on lap 13. Griffiths would take the win with Hughes in 2nd, Hook in 3rd, Bobby Greene in 4th and Kevin Fee in 5th. Shannon Anderson would clinch the track championship and finish 7th.
Mechanics and Powder Puff Races would also finish out the night and it was AJ Johnson winning the Modifieds/SportMods Mechanic Races, Russ Fullenkamp in the 4 Cylinders Mechanic Races, Cody Cleghorn in the Hobby Stocks/Stock Cars Mechanic Races and there was only one Powder Puff and that was Ashley Randall so she won that despite she was the only one in that and she raced against the hobby stocks/stock cars mechanics.
The track will fall silent until October 5-6 when the 26th Annual Musco
Lighting Fall Challenge will once again bring the track back to action.
Make plans to attend this always excellent racing show. More information would be out soon.

Marshalltown Speedway Stats and Season Championships Scenarios
As another regular season winds down at the Marshalltown Speedway it hard to believe the season is almost over and feels like we just started but time always flys when your having fun and the Marshalltown Speedway has trully lived up to "What Friday Nights are Made For" this season.
There is still a few nights to go but Track Points end this friday night at Marshalltown with the Larry Wollam Season Championship and then we will return in 3 weeks on September 21st and 22nd for the 6th Annual Havoc on the High Banks which is always exciting just like the Frostbuster that we start the season out with but we are going to take a look at some Points Clinching Scenarios for this week, stats from this year and then i will give you some stats dating back to 2002.
Points Clinching Scenarios
Keep in mind the top 12 in points will be locked in to the feature and the rest will run heat races to see were they will start.
O'Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites
Mike Morrill: Has 9 pts lead over Josh May going into Friday Night meaning all he has to do is finish 9th or better in the feature on friday night.....If Morrill wins the Championship it would be his first at Marshalltown since 2009 after finishing runner-up in the standings in 2010 and 2011.
Josh May: If May wants to win back-to-back track championships he will have to win and have Morrill finish 10th or worst or the second one is May has to finish 10 spots ahead of Morrill.....If May wins and Morrill 10th, they are tied and have to go to tiebreakers and it would be May having the advantage when they go to the 2nd tiebreaker otherwise Morrill has the advantage.
Randy Bryan: has clinched a top 4 finish in points and if he starts the feature he will clinch 3rd.
Joel Huggins: has clinched a top 4 finish in points as well and can get third if Bryan is unable to start the a-main or if he finishes 16 spots ahead of Bryan.
Dusty Masolini: can clinched a 5th place finish in points by starting the a-feature as he holds a 19 pts advantage over Jason Whitehead.
Toby K's Hideaway IMCA Hobby Stocks
Scott Pippert: Has clinched the 2012 Track Championship as he holds a 60 pts lead over Eric Larson.
Eric Larson: will clinch a 2nd place finish in points by just starting the feature since he has a 26 pt advantage over Gary Pfantz.
Gary Pfantz: Can finish 3rd place in points if he finishes 7th or better in the feature and can get 2nd if Larson doesn't show up on Friday.
Josh Saunders: Can clinch 4th place in points if he finishes 3rd or better and can get 3rd place in points if he wins and Pfantz finishes 8th or he finishes 7 spots ahead of Pfantz.
Kevin Fee: Can clinch 5th place in points if he finishes 18th or better.....can finish 4th if he wins and Saunders finishes 4th or if he finishes 3 spots ahead of Saunders........can finish 3rd in points if he wins, Saunders 4th and Pfantz 11th or finishes 3 spots ahead of Saunders and 10 spots ahead of Pfantz
Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds
Jimmy Gustin: Will clinch the 2012 Track Championship by starting the feature on Friday as has a 34 pt lead over Luke Wanninger and 38 pts over Ronn Lauritzen in points so it appears that Gustin will win his 5th championship in 6 years at Marshalltown (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012).
Luke Wanninger: Is currently 2nd in points and holds a 4 pt margin over Ronn Lauritzen so that means that regardless were Lauritzen finishes if Wanninger finishes 5th or better he takes 2nd in points.
Ronn Lauritzen: will clinch at least 3rd in points by starting the feature and has a shot at taking 2nd in points if he can win and Wanninger finishes 6th or Lauritzen finishes at least 5 spots ahead of Wanninger because Wanninger holds the tiebreaker
Kyle Brown: Has had a remarkable rookie season in the modifieds and it appears he is going to be re award with a top 5 finish in pts.....he holds on a 2 pt advantage over Scott Simatovich in the battle for 4th so if Brown finishes 2nd or better he clinches 4th in pts or has to finish 2 spots behind Simatovich to take 4th.
Scott Simatovich: Will clinch a top 5 spot in points by starting the feature which would be his first top 5 finish in pts since 2009 but can get 4th in pts if he wins and Brown finishes 3rd or if he finishes 3 spots ahead of Brown no matter where.
David Brown and Jon Snyder are within 35 and 38 pts respectively behind Simatovich so if he doesn't start the feature they have a shot at 5th place in points.
IMCA Sport Compacts
Merv Chandler: Has Clinched the 2012 Track Championship and had the championship locked up going into the month of August.
John Gill: Can clinch 2nd in pts if he starts the feature on Friday
Duayne Herb: Has Clinched at least 3rd in pts but if Gill doesn't make the call for the feature then he will have shot at taking 2nd.
David Moorman: Has clinched a 4th place finish in points.
Justin Thrap: Is currently in 5th in points but has attend an event since May 8th.
Neil Nabholz: If he starts the feature and Tharp doesn't attend, Nabholz will take a 5th place in points.
Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA SportMods
Racer Hulin: Is the current points leader and holds a 6 pt advantage over Joel Rust and 9 pt advantage over Jake Strayer so he can take his first track championship by finishing 7th or better on Friday because if there is a tie between Hulin and Rust or Strayer or all of them, Hulin holds the tiebreaker........Hulin could also fall to 4th if several things go wrong.
Joel Rust: Can win the track championship if he wins and Hulin finish 8th or if he finishes 7 spots ahead of Hulin
Jake Strayer: Can win the track championship if he wins and Hulin finish 11th and Rust finishes 4th or if he finishes 10 spots ahead of Hulin and 3 spots ahead of Rust.
Scott Davis: Is fourth in points and can get 2nd if he finishes 17 spots ahead of Rust, can get 3rd in points if he finishes 11 spots ahead of Strayer and can clinch 4th if he finishes 9th or better in the feature.
Nick Roberts: Fresh off winning the Stuart International Speedway Track Championship it appears he is going to end up with a top 5 finish at Marshalltown....Can get 2nd in pts if he finishes 23 spots ahead of Rust, Can get 3rd in pt if he finishes 20 spots ahead of Strayer, Can get 4th in pts if he finishes 10 spots ahead of Davis.
Jenae Gustin: Many believe she would be in the top 5 and contending for the title and maybe as point leader if she didn't miss a week earlier in the year and the its very much true as she is currently 42 pts behind Hulin.....has realistic shot at finishing 4th or 5th but that shot is very slim.
Mike's Hard Lemonade IMCA Stock Cars
Steve Meyer: Is looking for his first track championship and can clinch the track championship with an 12th or better finish.
Tracy Gienger: Can take the track championship if he wins and Meyer finish 13th or worst or if he he finishes 12 spots ahead of Meyer because of the tiebreakers...if Gienger is able to get it done it would be his first track championship since 2006.
Michael Murphy: In his rookie season a top 3 placing in the Stock Cars after taking the 2011 championship in the hobby stocks. Murphy can do that but needs a little help as he needs to finish 21 spots ahead of Meyer....Can get 2nd in points if he finishes 10 spots ahead of Gienger....Can clinch 3rd in pts if he finishes 2nd or better.
Damon Murty: Lead the points earlier in the season before having troubles so dropped in the standings after a few bad weeks.....Can get 2nd in points if he finishes 10 spots ahead of Gienger and 2 spots ahead of Murphy......Can get 3rd in points if he finishes 2 spots ahead of Murphy....can clinch 4th in pts if he finishes 14th or better.
Jay Schmidt: had his fair share of issues this year but for a top 5 finish in points it would a great way to finish to the year.....Can finish 3rd in points if he finish 16 spots ahead of Murphy.....Can finish 4th in points if he finishes 14 spots ahead of Murty
Trent Murphy: has been up and down but could end up with a top 5 in points if he can finish 10 spots ahead of Schmidt
Jeff Wollam: Streak of top 5 finishes in points will come to and end, Wollam had finished top 5 in points for 9 straight years (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011) but i believe his streak of top 10 in points is still intact i am not sure on those numbers.
Now thats an end to all of the Points Championship Scenarios going into the Larry Wollam Season Championships and a special thanks to Wolf Seeds coming on board as the Chase for the Championship Sponsor in 2012. If you want to keep reading there will be stats from this season.

Hope you enjoy all the fantastic Stats for the Marshalltown Speedway and if your just as wore reading this as i am after writing this i don't blame you but hope too see you at Marshalltown on Friday or on September 21st and 22nd!

Season Championship Night at Osky and the Points Clinching Scenarios
This was the first season of the Southern Iowa Speedway back under the IMCA (International Motor Contest Association) sanction after spending the previous 8 years under the USRA (United States Racing Association) sanction. The previous 8 years saw the car counts start to decline and this year the Southern Iowa Fairboard was dedicated to bring back some life to the speedway and they did by bring in fellow IMCA and USRA Driver Mike VanGenderen, who has had experience in the past of racing and promoting as many people might not have realized this but along with racing his own Modifieds or Stock Cars, Mike has promoted Figure 8 Races before.
Mike VanGenderen had so many ideas to get people out to the races but having town nights, special events for adults, drivers engaging in some fun in front of the crowd, many kids ideas and i can honestly say i have enjoying attending every night this year and think i attended more racing this year at Osky than the previous 8 years combined, now you can think its because i have something against USRA and the truth is no i don't but truthfully IMCA racing is great sure some may not like the rules but every week there has been some great racing.
The Track has been in great shape week after week and i can only imagine the plans for 2013 but with that being said there is still 3 nights of racing left in 2012 at Osky. The first of those events is this Wednesday Night with Pepsi Cola/KBOE Radio Season Championship Night with a special appearance by the Mod Lites. Also residents from Newton and Grinnell can get in for $5 on Wednesday and just recently added mechanics and powder puff races. Then Friday and Saturday October 5th and 6th the Speedway will host the 26th Annual Musco Lighting Fall Challenge.
But it being Season Championship Night this week that means points battles are on the line so lets take a look at the scenarios and some other notes.
Musco Lighting IMCA Modifieds
*The Modifieds would take one night off on June 20th because of the Deery Brothers Summer Series. Average Car Count for the Modifieds is 12.875, Highest Car Count was 27 during the Hawkeye Dirt Tour on July 17th, the Lowest Car Count was 7 on May 16th.
*Car Counts by Race Nights: 11-8-13-11-7-8-18-18-14-DNR-12-12-13-27-18-8-8
*Modifieds were orginally IMCA Sanctioned from 1984-2003 before becoming USRA from 2004-2011 and now back to IMCA.
Cayden Carter: Would make the jump from the SportMods, where he was 2011 Track Champion, into the Modifieds well worth it as he would take the track champion in his rookie season. Carter leads by 91 pts over 2nd place Brandon Banks and picked up 3 feature wins
Brandon Banks: Will finish 2nd in points despite having some issues through out the year. Banks holds a 50 pt lead over Jacob Murray, Banks best finish is 2nd.
Jacob Murray: This is where begin a battle as Murray holds an 11 pt gap over Dakota Hayden, 16 pt gap over Scott Dickey and Andrew Schroeder. Its quite possible if Murray hadn't missed any weeks that he would be contending Cayden Carter for the title as he has been in victory lane 5 times this year at Osky.........the scenario for clinching 3rd is this for Murray if he finishes 12th or better on Wednesday he cliniches 3rd in pts
Dakota Hayden: Had a string if bad luck this season with motor issues and you name it but a top 5 in points would a great way to end the season for Hayden as his best finish is a 2nd place finish..........can clinch 4th in pts if he finishes 5th or better, can grab 3rd palce in pts if he finishes 13 spots ahead of Murray.
Scott Dickey: One of the Drivers having to make the switch over from USRA to IMCA had some good nights for the most part the nights he has been at the track and came away with 1 feature win on May 30th.......Dickey can take 5th in pts with a win and Schroeder finishing 2nd, can take 4th in pts if he finishes 5 spots ahead of Hayden and 1 spot ahead of Schroeder.
Carter's Manufacturing IMCA Stock Cars
* The Stock Cars have seen some fantastic finishes to most of their feature events this year and have proved why they are usually the last class to run their feature on race nights. Average car count for the Stock Cars is 15.882, Highest car count was 28 during the Stock Car Shootout on July 4th and the lowest car count was 13 that occur twice this year.
*Car Counts by Race Nights: 15-16-13-13-16-18-17-20-16-16-15-28-13-14-14-12-14
*Stock Cars also were IMCA Sanctioned from 1984-2003 before being USRA 2004-2011 and returned back to IMCA in 2012.
Matt Greiner: Looking to take his 2nd track championship for 2012 as he most recently picked up the track championship at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson by the 2nd tiebreaker........the simple scenario for Greiner is this: if he finishes 7th or better he will clinch the track championship
Nathan Wood: Has had some strong runs this year early in the year before experiencing some issues in the mid-way part of the season and believes they have gotten it back to were it was at the beginning of the year but he comes in 7 pts behind Greiner in the pts.........the scenario for Wood to win the title is this win and Greiner finishes 8th as the tiebreaker would go to Wood on Wins (if that happen) or Wood must finish 7 spots ahead of Greiner to force a tie, going into the night they each have 2 wins so the 2nd tiebreaker is 2nd place finishes and that would go to Wood with 3 2nd place finishes to Greiner's 2 2nd place finishes.
Corey Stout: Can finish as high as 3rd and as low as 5th for the Driver from Across The Street......Stout holds 8 pts over Todd Reitzler and 30 pts over Damon Murty so barring some issues he will finish 3rd or 4th........the scenario for Stout is too finish 8th or better to clinch 3rd.
Todd Reitzler: Moved up to the Stock Cars in 2011 and his Sophmore season has been pretty good as he has 2 feature wins at Osky and has a shot at finishing 3rd in points.....Reitzler must finish 8 spots better than Stout to grab 3rd because of the tiebreaker on wins.
Damon Murty: can grab 3rd if Stout doesn't show up otherwise he can only grab 4th but that is slim as he must finish 22 spots higher than Reitzler so that almost seems impossible to complete.
Pyramid Graphics and Sports IMCA SportMods
*The SportMods have seen won guy win 9 times this year and that is Jesse Sobbing from Glenwood, Iowa, which is 3.5 hours away. The average car count for the SportMods is 17.176, highest car count was 27 on April 18th and the lowest was 10 on August 1st.
*Car Counts by Race Nights: 17-27-24-19-23-15-15-17-20-18-13-19-14-16-11-10-14
*SportMods were added in 2003 as weekly class but known as b-mods from 2004-2011 under USRA before becoming IMCA Sanctioned this year for the first time.
Jesse Sobbing: despite the 9 wins, Jesse only has a 10 pt lead over 2nd place Curtis Vanderwal going into season championship now that means if Sobbing finishes 11th or better he will take the championship
Curtis Vanderwal: has ha a very consistent season as he is the only driver to have finished in the top 10 every week but is currently 10 pts out of the lead meaning he needs to win and Sobbing finish 12th or worst to take the title or finish 11 spots ahead of Sobbing to take the title as any tiebreaker would go to Sobbing.
Carter Vandenberg: has cliniched 3rd place in pts and can grab if for some reason Vanderwal is unable to make the call for the heat race or feature on wednesday.
Eric Flander: Is looking at a 4th place finish in points because all he has to do is finish 14th or better to clinch 4th.
Tony Johnson: Is currently 5th in pts and can clinch it by finishing 2nd or better or finish 1 spots ahead or behind of Brett Lowry.....Johnson could get 4th if he finishes 15 spots ahead of Flander.
Brett Lowry: Is 6th in pts but can grab 5th if he wins and Johnson finishes 3rd or worst or finishes 2 spots ahead of Johnson because of tiebreakers........Lowry can also grab 4th if he finishes 17 spots ahead of Flander.
Tracy Elevator IMCA Hobby Stocks
*The Hobby Stocks have seen 6 different feature winners this year with Points Leader and Former National Champions Shannon Anderson leading the way. The average car count for the Hobby Stocks is 15.353 with the highest of 23 on April 25th and the lowest of 11 happening twice.
*Car Counts by Weeks: 18-18-23-21-13-14-18-18-15-13-15-16-11-14-11-11-12
*Hobby Stocks were IMCA Sanctioned 2001-2003 before going USRA from 2004-2011 before returning back to IMCA Sanctioned this year.
Shannon Anderson: Appears to have the track championship locked up as all we will have to do is start the feature on Wednesday as he holds a 25 pt advantage over Kevin Fee.
Kevin Fee: It looks to have a 2nd place finish in pts if he is able to start the feature as he is 23 pts ahead of Dustin Griffiths.
Dustin Griffiths: Has been on a tear as of late as he has won 3 of the last 4 features to put himself in 3rd in pts and that appears where he will finish in pts barring something doesn't break because he has only a 1 pt gap over Donavon Nunnikhoven and 2 pt gap over Danny Thrasher.........so if Griffiths finishes 2nd or better he cliniches 3rd in pts or if he finishes 1 spot behind Nunnikhoven and 2 spots behind Thrasher he will take 3rd.
Donavon Nunnikhoven: can grab 3rd place in pts if he wins and finishes 2 spots ahead of Griffiths....Can Clinch 4th in points if he finishes 2nd or better.
Danny Thrasher: can also grab 3rd place in pts if he wins and finishes 3 spots ahead of Griffiths, 2 spots ahead of Nunnikhoven.....can get 4th place in pts if he finishes 2 spots ahead of Nunnikhoven....Can clinch 5th just by starting the feature.
Autocrafter/Whalen Racing IMCA Sport Compacts
*The Sport Compacts are the newest of the division at Southern Iowa Speedway. The average car count for the Sport Compacts is 6.118, highest is 8 which had happened 4 times this year and the lowest is 4 which could set some interesting scenarios for the top 2 guys in pts.
*Car Counts by Weeks: 6-5-5-8-5-5-5-7-5-8-6-7-6-8-6-8-4
*Sport Compacts were orginally announced unsanctioned but after drivers and track crew talked sanctioning them was the thing to do so they become the first newly sanctioned division at Osky.
Merv Chandler: Holds an 8 pt lead over Bill Whalen Jr. so it appears that all Chandler has to do is start the feature on Wednesday however if there is more than 8 cars, Chandler can finish 9th or better to clinch the title.
Bill Whalen Jr.: Is sitting 2nd and has clinched 2nd place in pts at least and can get 1st if Chandler is unable to start or he finishes 9 spots ahead of Chandler.
John Whalen: Has clinched 3rd place in pts and barring the top 2 guys in points don't show up that is where he will finish.
Larry Hopkins: Will finish 4th place in pts despite missing most of the 2nd half of the season at Osky.
Trent Orwig: Will finish 5th place in pts by just starting the heat or feature on Wednesday.
That is a look at the points clinching scenarios along with some other notes incase you are wondering what to expect going into tomorrow night at Osky.....Hope to see you all there and for the ones that are waiting for the scenarios for Marshalltown they are coming soon i promise along with some other crazy stats!

Reimer Gets First Career Win on Custom Concrete Night at Motown
The
night was action packed and exciting night of racing on Custom
Concrete Night at the Marshalltown Speedway. The fans would not only
get to see the weekly classes races but when the features were all
finish there would be a Tough Truck Tug of War that every fan in
attendance enjoyed.
David Moorman would jump to the lead right away in the IMCA Sport Compacts 8 lap feature from his 2nd row outside starting spot and appeared he was going to cruise to the easy win until the caution came out on lap 3 for debris and then again on lap 5 when Neil Nabholz would experience some troubles. Moorman wouldn’t let that bother him as he would hold off challenges from Merv Chandler to take the win, which was Moorman’s 1st since he last won a non-sanctioned FWD feature back on September 3rd, 2004. Chandler, John Gill, Duayne Herb and Jer Pedersen would round out the top 5.
Travis Stensland would lead the first lap in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites feature before Joel Huggins would sneak by for the lead. Huggins would have to deal with Mike Morrill and it was Morrill grabbing the lead on lap 4 and begin pulling away. Morrill would go on take his 8th win of the season at Marshalltown. Josh May would finish 2nd, Tim Hennigar was 3rd, Andy Hennigar was 4th and Joel Huggins was 5th.
Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA SportMods feature would see Gatlin Leytham take the early lead but just after 2 laps was complete the caution would fly 3 times in the next 2 laps. The first 2 cautions were for sole spins and the final caution was for 6 cars getting together in the bottom side of turn 2. Once it was cleaned up, Leytham would continue to lead it until Jenae Gustin would make her way up to battle for the lead. Gustin would make the right move on the last lap and take the win over Leytham. Ty Luellen was 3rd, Racer Hulin started 22nd and finished 4th. Jake Strayer would come home in the 5th spot to round out the top 5.
In the Toby K’s Hideaway IMCA Hobby Stocks 12 lap feature it was Tyler Pickett taking the early lead but Brice Udelhoven would take over the lead on lap 4. Shortly after the yellow came out for the first time but Udelhoven wouldn’t let that bother him. However the caution would fly again on lap 9 when Nic Shearer would have something break and going into the wall. This would put Scott Pippert on Udelhoven’s back bumper and it would be Udelhoven holding him off on lap 10 but Pippert would make the move and take the win away. Udelhoven settled for 2nd with Eric Knutson, Kevin Fee and Randy Embrey rounding out the top 5.
The Mike’s Hard Lemonade IMCA Stock Cars feature saw Kevin Rose lead the first 8 lap before Derek Reimer would make the move on the outside and grab the lead away. The only caution would come out on lap 12 but that didn’t seem to slow Reimer down as he would hold off late race challenges from Rose, Donavon Smith and Tracy Gienger to take his first career win. Rose, Smith, Gienger and John Emerson finished 2nd through 5th.
The final feature of the night was Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds feature and it was Randy Havlik leading the first 4 laps before Jon Snyder would grab the lead on lap 5. Snyder would only be slowed down by the cautions that came out on lap 7 and 10. Snyder would take the win over Ronn Lauritzen, Luke Wanninger, Jimmy Gustin and Scott Simatovich
Next Friday Night will be Dairy Queen Larry Wollam Season Championship, where the top 12 in points will be locked in, heats be run for any over that to set the feature field. Speedway features IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Mod Lites and IMCA Sport Compacts. Hot Laps at 7 pm and Racing to Follow at 7:30 pm.
