Busy Motorsports Weekend in Marshalltown

This Saturday at the Central Iowa Fairgrounds will be the 1st Annual "Smokin Smoe" Memorial Season Championships for the Thunder Dome. Three of five eligible classes for points championships have been settled but 2 classes are only separated by 35 points.

Junior 1 Pro Heavy sees Nick Rose leading over Madison Clark by 35 points going into Saturday and in the Clone Heavy its Brandon Sohl leading over Albert Wolfgram by the same margin.

Junior 2 Pro Heavy class has been dominated by Tyler Havens and he has won 6 in a row and there is a little extra cash on the line if somebody can beat him.

Also people are reminded to you use the East Entrance to the Fairgrounds for Saturday. Gates Open at 9a, hot laps at noon and racing to follow. Admission is $10 which includes a pit pass. On Sunday the Marshalltown Speedway and Central Iowa Fairgrounds are inviting drivers, car owners and fans out for the Annual Marshalltown Speedway Car Show. For the first time the car show will take at the Southwest Corner of the Fairgrounds (just south of the pit area). Also a Fan Appreciation Cookout and the Car Show will get underway at noon.

After the Car Show there will be an open track practice from 5-8pm. Grandstands are open to the public and free of charge, if you want to go in the pits during the practice you must have a pit pass and that will be $10.
