Lighting Fast Racing Once Again Inside the Thunder Dome / Race #2 Recap

Marshalltown, Iowa (November 2nd, 2013) – For the second consecutive week, the Thunder Dome Indoor Dirt Racing saw some lightining fast racing action. Several Races during the day saw exciting and amazing finishes. As there was 72 entries on the day to take on the lightining fast bull ring.

First class of the day was the Jr Two Medium and it was Mark Maas from Epworth completing the sweep by leading the entire 12 lap feature. Kobe Moriarty came home in the runner up spot.

Kid Karts were up next and it was Cason Fitch completing a sweep of his own by leading all ten laps. The Mystery Rider in the number 62 kid kart, last year drove by Kinzer Jaennette, came home in the runner up spot. JP Strawn came home third.

In the Quad C Trophy Class before a lap was completed the red flag was displayed when Richard Blom had his throttle stick and he went flying off turn three, he and the quad when flying toward a guard rail. Blom was okay and walked away. When the race restarted it was Brandon Gillette leading all 15 laps to take the win and complete the sweep. Jamie Gilbert, Justin Sutherlin and Richard Blom finished second through fourth.

Rookie Beginners saw only two entries on the day and it was the "Little Flying Deuce" of Chase Atcher taking the sweep over "Toledo Terror" Kinzer Jaennette.

The Rookie Adavanced class saw Keagan Thompson finally able to get by Ty Solverson on the start and hold off every challenge from Solverson preventing him from clean sweep on the day.

Jr. Quads Beginners (0-90cc) had a total of eight entries so they were split into two races. First feature was called "The Slow" Feature and this race was very exciting as JP Strawn grabbed the early lead and then his quad shut off and after it was restarted the quad died again that handed the lead over to Lily Pike just beyond the half way point. Pike held off Turner Bennett to take the win.

The second Jr. Quads Beginners feature was called "The Fast" Feature and it was Jake Riddle leading the first two laps before Conner Ruge got by to take the top spot. Ruge took the win over Riddle, Jackson Misel, Carter Kruse and James Anderson.

In the Advanced class (0-125cc), it was Ashton Gilbert leading the first two laps before Conner Ruge took the top spot away. Ruge went on to take the win just like he did in the beginner class. Last Week's Winner Tristian Rethmeier finished second and Gilbert was third.

For the second week in a row, Keeton Fleener got the whole shot victory in the Mad Dogg Bikes. Brandon Webster finished second, Patrick Decook was third, Brian Kauffman was fourth and Kyle Busch was fifth.

Up next would be the Jr One Amateur division and it was Dayton Filloon leading all 12 laps to complete another sweep of the day. Aaron Lyon of Independence finish second and Seth Stacy was third.

Again Only One entry in the Jr. Bike Class and that was of Young Kaden Kauffman from Cedar Rapids. Kaden got some good track experience as dad Brian  joined him on the track for a little fun again and Kaden is defintely got the hang of it as he held off dad every lap.

Quad B feature saw Eric Vanderploeg lead all 15 laps to take the win. David Petithory had a better outcome this week as he finished second. Brandon Gillette, Vance Misel and Blake Miller rounded out the top five.

Amateur Bikes feature saw Patrick Decook taking the win over Promoter Brian Kauffman.

Jr One Medium feature saw the yellow flag come out before a single lap was completed when Ashton Gein and a few others got together in turn four. On the restart, it was Blaine Webster leading the first lap but it was Brady Kohrs taking the top spot away on lap two. Kohrs cruised on to the win, despite a charging Nick Rose that caught up to Kohrs just as they were catching lap traffic late in the race. Webster finished third, McKinzie Culbertson was fourth and Brandon Way was fifth.

Clone Heavy feature was up next and well fireworks was the common thing in this race. Tyler Havens lead the first seven laps but when a caution came out on lap six when John Hyman got in the wall in turn two and then again for debris. Havens had to battle with Ryan Gustin on the restart and Gustin was able to sneak by on lap eight to take the lead. Gustin would slip up and Havens snuck by on the last lap but in turn four Gustin got into Havens coming to the checkered. Just before the checkered was displayed the race went back to the last completed lap with Havens being credited the win. Eddie Brose in second, Johnny Emerson was third. Clair Messor was fourth and Al Wolfgram was fifth.

Again there was Only one Pro-Am Bike on the day so he opted to run with the Pro Bike Class. Brandon Webster was the winner in the Pro-Am Bike Class meanwhile in the Pro Bikes for the second week in a row it was Older Brother Clayton Webster taking the clean sweep win over Keeton Fleener.

Final feature of the day was the Quad A Feature. Eric Vanderploeg lost wheel on the initial start forcing a restart. Blake Miller jumped to the lead and never looked back in route to the win. David Petithory came home second for the second time today. Vance Misel grabbed third away from Rick Reeves.
