Independence, Iowa - Track officials continued to observe the radar and weather forecast with hopes of racing on Saturday Night in Independence as much as planned. Mother Nature had other plans forcing Track Manager Justin Temeyer and Promoter Mick Trier to pull the plug on Midwest Motors Night.
Next Saturday Night May 15th is Albert Auto Night with $750 to win IMCA Hobby Stocks. Also Racing will be the Dunlap Motors IMCA Late Models, Performance Bodies IMCA Modifieds, Dominator Chassis IMCA Stock Cars, Burco Sales IMCA Sport Mods, Albert Auto IMCA Hobby Stocks, Waterloo Auto Parts Indee Cars (Micro Mods) and Waterloo Auto Parts Sport Compacts. Hot Laps scheduled at 5:30p, Racing at 6p.
Each heat race winner receives $25 and Trophies to Top 3 in each class. Hard Charger Awards in IMCA Late Models $100 (Price Electric), IMCA Hobby Stocks $100 (Price Electric), IMCA Modifieds $200 (Hunter Auto Sales & Gail Hunter American Family Insurance), IMCA Late Models $200 (Peoples Company), IMCA Sport Mods $100 (Cue Cattle Company), Sport Compacts $100 (Auto Crafters) and Micro Mods $100 (Burco Farms). Prizes for The Fans, Other Mystery & Surprise Prizes throughout the night.
