Hobscheidt, Sachau, Avila, Ramsey, Sabin Capture Ron Little Memorial Victories in Stuart

One of my favorite events to attend or work is the Ron Little Memorial at the Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Speedway so it was no surprised that I was going to make the trip over for the 24th Annual event. This event was also the finale of the six night swing of races for the Hickingbottom Trucking and BigDeal Car Care Midwest Madness Tour presented by Western Iowa Racing Results.

This night remembers a guy known as "The Gentle Giant" who passed away on May 9th, 1999 after finishing third at Stuart. Ron said to friend and competitor Joe College, “Joe, my cars were top 4 tonight, I have this figured out, I tried something tonight and it worked!” Unfortunately that was the last time the familiar number 10 car would see the race track. Every year Ron's last race car comes out to pace the field for the features on the night in his honor. Next year's event will be the Silver Anniversary, 25th Annual Ron Little Memorial.

A total of one hundred-forty cars checked into for the 24th Annual Ron Little Memorial beating last year's record car count by three cars. Stuart was third amongst the car counts of the six night swing : Clay County in Spencer (154 cars), Worthington (148), Stuart (140), Park Jeff (133) and Buena Vista in Alta (106).

Racing surface was in perfect condition for the heat races which led to some intense great racing action. After the heat races was completed though track crew had a farming session to rework the surface to make it fantastic for the features. It worked because there was  several exciting battles the rest of the night. Final checkered flag came out at 11:20pm meaning by the time I got out of there I did not arrive back to Marshalltown until shortly after 1 am.

Great job by Mike Van Genderen and track crew for producing a great surface. Tony Paris and PJ Pedersen did a great job on the horn last night. Tim Skaren and crew did a fantastic job with the Midwest Madness Tour. All in all it was a great night.

First feature of the night was the Spices Galore! IMCA Sport Mods 20 lap feature event. Matt Avila out wrestled Jake Sachau, driving Jace Whitt's ride for the race lead. Avila fended off challenges from Sachau but held them off. Avila sliced his way through the lap traffic until a caution came out on lap 19 when Willy Kirk, Shelby Alves, Jackson Harpole and Mitchell Morris in turn four. Avila held off David Schwartz and seventh place starter Taylor Kuehl on the restart. Schwartz and Kuehl made contact with each other allowing Sachau to reclaim second. Avila took the feature win ahead of Sachau, Kuehl, Cam Reimers and eleventh place starter Brayton Carter. Midwest Madness Tour Champion was Lance Borgman, he came home in 11th, beating Kuehl by seven points.

Next up is usually the class to put on the best show as they are known as the Class Too Tough Too Tame, that being the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Cars for 22 laps. This feature had exiting moments but it was a stinker because there was a lot of cautions in the this one. Angel Munoz led the first two laps before fifth place starter Damon Murty sneaked by on the outside. Murty would slap the wall on lap nine in turns one and two, forcing him to slow down and exit the racing surface. That handed the lead over to Jake Sachau and tenth place starter Buck Schafroth began to put some pressure on Sachau. Schrafroth had a tire go down forcing him to exit the race track. Sachau went on to take the feature win. "The General" Troy Jerovetz worked his way from eighteenth to finish second. Tom Berry Jr was able to get by Austin Bouzek off the final corner to claim third. Bouzek in fourth and Rowdee Van Genderen came home in fifth. Bo Partain from Arizona was the Midwest Madness Tour Champion he finished seventh, beating Murty by five points.

Owen Richards and Kolby Sabin led the field to green in the Culver's of Carroll IMCA Sport Compacts 15 lap feature event. Richards and Sabin battled it out with Richards leading lap one, Sabin was able to take the top spot away on lap two. Sabin pulled away and went on to the easy victory in the only feature to go caution free. Jake Paysen finished second, Richards fell back to third, Shannon Mahlberg was fourth and Andrew Akers was fifth. Sabin's win gave him the Midwest Madness Tour Championship beating Mahlberg by three points.

Before a single lap was scored in the Schroeder Construction & Roofing IMCA Modifieds 25 lap feature event, the caution came out for Nate Warren spinning in turn one. Tripp Gaylord from Lakewood, Colorado led the first lap before Plattsmouth, Nebraska's Jacob Hobscheidt took over the lead. The caution came out shortly after when Jordan Rogotzke spun in turn four. Hobscheidt held everybody off on the following restart and again on lap six when Mike Lineberry and Nick Roberts gets together in turn two. Hoscheidt's big challenge was managing the lap traffic, he manage to get through and win by a full straight away. Dylan Thronton, Gaylord, Todd Shute and Jerry Flippo rounded out the top five. Hobscheidt also went on to claim the Midwest Madness Tour Championship by 25 points over Dallon Murty.

Ethan Atcheson led the first lap of the Demon Decals & Wraps IMCA Hobby Stocks 16 lap feature event. Coming to complete lap two, Atcheson spins in turn four forcing the caution to come out. That gave the race lead to Joe Doran. Skylar Pruitt was able to take the top spot away on the restart and was trialed by Zack Tate from Arizona. The caution came out on lap six when Brianna Osterson spun in turn one. Pruitt was able to fend off Luke Ramsey and Tate on the restart, appearing to head on to the win. Pruitt encountered a lap car as Ramsey was waiting to pounce when a lap car forced Pruitt to check up, Ramsey made pass for the lead on lap 11. Ramsey almost had the exact same situation a rise coming to the checkers but he hung to take the feature win. Pruitt came home second, Eric Stanton was third, Tate was fourth and Solomon "Squishy" Bennett was fifth. Kevin Bruck came home in sixth but that was just enough as he took the Midwest Madness Tour Championship by six points over Bennett.

Final feature of the night was the Outlaw Mini Mods fourteen lap feature event. Bobby Daniels out dueled Clayton Vanderploeg for the race lead. Bobby Daniels looked tough and would lead the first 12 laps despite a handful of cautions. Chase Daniels was able to steal the lead away on lap 13. Chase Daniels took the win over Bobby Daniels, Kaden Rice, Vanderploeg and Lucas Daniels.

The Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Speedway is back in action on Sunday July 2nd when the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series Late Models make their second appearance of the season for another $3,000 to win show. Pierce Takes the Win at the World of Outlaw Mason City Showdown

When the World of Outlaw Late Models announced their 2023 schedule and I saw the Mason City Motor Speedway presented by Pritchard Family Auto Stores was on the schedule I marked it down on my schedule as well as other races in the Hawkeye State coming for the World of Outlaws.

Tuesday Nights can be tricky but Todd, Janet and Ryne Staley along with the rest of the Mason City Motor Speedway crew did a fantastic job putting this event on and I hope the World of Outlaws return next season. A total of sixty cars between three classes checked into to tame the 1/3 mile on the North Iowa Fairgrounds. Twenty-four of them was the World of Outlaw Case Construction Late Models, 22 Window World of Mason City USRA B-Mods and 14 Wrightz Auction Company USRA Hobby Stocks.

Racing action wrapped up at 10:39pm meaning after the two hour drive back to Marshalltown, I got home around 1 am. I had fun and would do it again. Keep up the great work Todd and Ryne on making racing great again in Mason City.

Shortly after the final heat race of the night, the speedway lost all power to the front stretch lights, caution lights, timing & scoring, pa announcing system so as that was being resolved track prep was going to make the racing surface better for the features. Once power was restored, the decision was made to move the Late Models to the first feature instead of being the finale.

First feature of the night was the CASE Construction World of Outlaw Late Model Series 40 lap feature event. Tanner English jumped out the race lead from his outside pole starting spot but before he could pull away the red flag came out when Jason Strand hit the entrance to the pit area in turn three and then flipped upside down. English had to contend with constant pressure from Bobby Pierce when the race resumed. Shane Clanton and Brian Shirley joined in the mix. The battle for the lead and contact with a lap car punctured English's right rear. The caution came out again on lap twenty-four when Shirley, battling with Clanton makes contact with Dustin Walker as both spin in turn two.

On the following restart, officials noticed that English's tire from the the earlier contact with a lap car definitely punctured the tire because on lap 26, English slowed coming down the front stretch with a flat tire allowing Pierce to take the race lead. Pierce was able to get a fantastic restart and remain unchallenged in the final 14 laps, despite one more caution on lap 34 when Todd Cooney had a right rear tire go down. Pierce went on to earn the $10,000 prize and claim his eighth career World of Outlaws win, the win allowed Pierce to take over the points lead from Chris Madden. Clanton finished second, Brandon Sheppard was third, Mike Marlar was fourth and Nick Hoffman was fifth.

Fox Factory Hard Charger Brent Larson was sixth. Ryan Gustin, Dennis Erb Jr, Chris Simpson and Cade Dillard rounded out the top ten. Hoffman, Pierce and Clanton was the heat race winners. Hoffman set a new track record with a 13.343 lap in Low-E Insulations Time Trials.

Next up was the Window World of Mason City USRA B-Mods 20 lap feature event. Gage Motl from Owantonna, Minnesota took the earl lead fending off Troy Hale. Motl was never able to pull away as he was then challenged by Noah Grinstead from Austin, Minnesota. Motl remain in command until the only race caution came out on lap thirteen for Philip Ihde in turn four. Eighth place starter Joe Chisholm restarted third but was able to take the top spot away. Chisholm was able to pull away and go on to take the victory. Motl came home second, Grinstead was third, Dan Hovden in fourth and Ben Moudry was fifth. Hovden, Chisholm and Moudry took the heat race wins.

Final feature of the night was Wrightz Auction Company USRA Hobby Stocks 18 lap feature event. Brian Lund fought off Zac Smith to take the race lead early. Lund than had to fight off attempts from Kolby Goepel, Smith and tenth place starter Carter Koop but continued to do that. The caution came out on lap seven when Jace Hanson spun in turn four with mechanical issues. Koop was able to take the top spot way on the restart and never look back going on to take the feature win. Goepel, eighth place starter Luke Schluetter, Lund and Sommerfeld rounded out the top five. Heat race winners was Sommerfeld and Chris Hovden.

Next race at the Mason City Motor Speedway presented by Pritchard Family Auto Stores is on Sunday July 9th when the Pro Late Model Tour Late Models invade the 1/3 mile for an $1,000 to win to show. USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Mini Mods. Pits Open at 4p, Grandstands at 5p, Hot Laps at 6:15p, Racing at 6:30p.

The following week on July 16th is the Ted Zieman Memorial presented by Pritchard Family Auto Stores. USRA Stock Cars are $2,400 to win that night. That night the USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, USRA Tuners and Outlaw Mini Mods all compete.

Then the 10th Annual USMTS North Iowa National presented by Christie Door Company takes place Wednesday July 19th through Saturday July 22nd. Wednesday Night is Practice, USMTS is $3,000 to win on Thursday, $5,000 to win on Friday and $10,000 to win on Saturday. This will be the first of two USMTS race weeks at the speedway.

World of Outlaw CASE Construction Late Models head to the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota on Thursday (originally scheduled for Wednesday but mother nature forced it to be postponed to Thursday), River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Friday and I-94 EMR Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

They return to the Hawkeye State on Tuesday August 1st for the Hawkeye 50 at Boone Speedway in Boone, Quad Cities 150 at Davenport Speedway on August 24th through 26th and October 6th for the West Burlington Showdown at 34 Raceway.

Hahne, Carter, VanDerWal, Griffiths and Barnes Take Gary Wilson Memorial Victories

When I saw the Southern Iowa Speedway Schedule come out and saw the SLMR Late Models was going to make an appearance to the monster half mile I marked it down on my schedule to attend. So I made the 65.7 mile trip one way to the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds for the Inaugural Gary Wilson Memorial presented by Kraig Ford. There was many other sponsors that helped to contribute to the night to make the pay out increased which led to more cars than normal check in.

Those that help contribute include David Weeks, Cassie & Waylon Rhodes, Tanner Wilson, Curtis VanDerWal, Travis Bunnell, Huffman Fabrication, Stout Trucking, Guthry & Alyse Vroegh, Brandon Bandstra / Double B Blasting, Longhorn Saloon, Excelled Lighting LLC, VanUtrecht Farms & Trucking, Francis Electric, Steel Trucking, Chris & Chastity Watters / C & C Carpentry, John Livezy, Jimmy Keasling / 72H Racing, Robbie Wilson, Nathan Wood Racing, Vanoy Chevrolet, Jerry & Sharon Thompson Trucking, Christopher Long, Partner Maschmann, Carroll Hoover / Carroll Hover Photos, Kraig Ford, Southern Iowa Fair Board & Race Committee, Dirt N Asphalt, Dynosoar Engines by Gibson and DJ & Melissa Draughn / Draughn Snow Removal.

A total of ninety-two cars including 17 of  the Haulin' with Hoker Trucking East Series of the Super Late Model Racing Series. Seventeen Midstate Machine Stock Cars, 13 Oskaloosa Quality Rental Sport Mods, 28 Parker Tree Service Hobby Stocks and 17 Dirt N Asphalt Sport Compacts. It was the first time Super Late Models had been at Osky since 2016 when Jesse Stovall won the MLRA show on June 2nd, 2016. Racing action was really exciting through out the night even though some would say different, I was impressed and had fun visiting with some friends that I haven't seen in a while. Racing action wrapped up at 10:37pm meaning by the time I got in the car and made the drive back home I rolled in just a little after midnight.

First feature of the night was the Dirt N Asphalt Sport Compacts ten lap event. Shane Barnes jumped out to the race lead early and had to fend off several challenges by Lukas Rick until the only caution came out on lap four. Barnes held off Rick and Brandon Pickney on the restart, Barnes led all ten laps going on to take the win worth $500. Rick finished second, Bob Hayes came home third, Garrett Porter was fourth and Seth Meinders was fifth.

In the the Midstate Machine Stock Cars 14 lap feature, it was "Mighty Mouse" Jason McDaniel grabbing the race lead despite pressure from Dustin Griffiths. Cayden Carter driving the 1x worked his way to second on lap three and then set his sights on McDaniel. Carter took the top spot away on lap six and start to pull away forcing McDaniel, Griffiths and Nathan Wood to battle it out. Carter was chase down by Wood just prior to the caution come out on lap 11. Carter held off the pressure from Wood on the restart. One more caution came out on lap 13 when Steve Byers and Wade Francis got together in turn one. Carter held off Wood to claim the victory and the $651. Wood finished second. Griffiths, McDaniel and Chad Keller finished third through fifth respectively.

Up next was the first ever appearance for the Haulin' with Hoker Trucking SLMR Late Models at Osky for 25 laps. Nick Marolf out wrestled Luke Goedert for the race lead early, Marolf checked out. "Hollywood" Jason Hahne worked his way into second on lap four. Hahne chased down Marolf as lap traffic started to encounter the race lead and managed to take over the race lead on lap 16. Hahne checked out and had as many a pair of lap cars between him and Marolf. Hahne goes on to take the $3,000 prize, his second win of the season in the East Series. Marolf, Goedert, Derrick Stewart and Andy Eckrich rounded out the top five. Matt Ryan and Marolf won the heat races meanwhile Luke Pestka set quick time in time trials.

Sam Wieben led the first lap of the Oskaloosa Quality Rental Sport Mods 14 lap feature event before Curtis VanDerWal took the top spot away. Wieben tried to get back by VanDerWal but was unsuccessful and then found himself in a battle with Brayton Carter for second. VanDerWal went on to take his third feature win of the season at Osky and the top prize of $610. Carter came home second, Maguire DeJong claimed third, Wieben fell back to fourth and Carter VanDenBerg came home fifth.

Final feature of the night was the Parker Tree Service Hobby Stocks 14 lap feature. The caution came out before a single lap was scored when Kaden Staley in turn three. On the restart, Corey VanDerWilt was able to grab the lead and lead the first three laps. Bradly Graham took the lead on lap four but that was short lived as Dustin Griffiths was able to take the top spot away. Griffiths held off Graham and Brad Stephens but then a caution come out on lap 10. Griffiths remain strong out front but the caution came out again two laps later when Preston McDonald spun on the back stretch. Griffiths went on to take the feature win ahead worth $1,044 over Eric Stanton, Stephens, Keaton Gorden and Graham.

McBirnie Takes The Big Money, Gustin Repeats on Midwest Liquid Systems Night

Once again Mother nature gave the Karl Auto Group of Marshalltown Speedway a picture perfect night for racing on the high banks for Midwest Liquid Systems  Night at the Creek. Ninety-Four cars in five IMCA classes including 22 Tire Demon by Love Tap IMCA Modifieds for $1,000 to win. The car was over a hundred after you add in the cruisers which saw eight sign in.

They went two, three and some times four wide through the night on a very racy race track. The racing action wrapped up at 10:05p.

First feature of the night was the Rugged Radios IMCA Sport Mods 20 lap feature event. Duane Peterson jumped to the early race lead and held on to it until a caution on lap three when Ryan King and Taylor Bass in turn one. Jenae Gustin was able to take the top spot away on the restart with Brady Hilmer into second. The caution came out again when King in turn two. Gustin held off Hilmer, Sam Wieben and Travis Peterson on the restart. Gustin looked to be going on to take the win despite pressure but Duane Peterson blew up in turn three making hard to see along with it being slick from the oil forcing a green-white-checkered finish. Gustin held strong and went on to take the feature win ahead of Wieben, Kyle Olson, Travis Peterson and Tony Olson.

Scott Bailey led the first four laps of the Knight Sanitation IMCA Mod Lites 15 lap feature event. Josh May worked his way from ninth to third and was able to make the move and get by Bailey and Cory Sonner for the top spot. May looked to be cruising away but Jon Padilla, worked his way into second on lap seven and chased down May. The caution came out on lap 12 when Padilla spun in turn two. May got a great restart and held off Jason Masengarb to take the feature win. Masengarb finished second, Sonner was third, Mike Zemo Jr was fourth and Randy Bryan was fifth.

Next up was the Tire Demon by Love Tap IMCA Modifieds 20 lap feature event and it was Jake McBirnie wrestling the lead from pole sitter Chase Weimer early. McBirnie had to fend off Johnathon Logue and Maguire DeJong. The caution came out on lap four when Jason Morehouse in turn two. McBirnie remained strong but the caution came out again on lap six when Logue spun in turn four. McBirnie held off DeJong and Joel Rust the rest of the way to capture the $1,000 to win feature. Rust came home in second ahead of DeJong, Tripp Gaylord and Paul Nagle.

Garrett Corn led the first two laps of the Drury Automotive and Truck Repair IMCA Stock Cars 20 lap feature event. Michael Jaennette was able to grab the top spot away on lap three and started to pull away as the battle behind him started heating up. Austin Kaplan worked his way to second and then set his sights on reeling in Jaennette for the race lead. Kaplan did exactly and was able to get by Jaennette when he slipped up leaving the door open. Kaplan went on to claim the victory. Jaennette finished second, Steve Meyer was third, Scott Rice was fourth and Jeff Wollam was fifth.

Briar Kriegel, borrowing Bradly Graham's hot rod led the first lap of the Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Hobby Stocks feature event. The caution came out shortly after for debris in turn one. Kriegel led until Eric Knutson finally found his away by Kriegel, shortly after he slipped up. Knutson was followed by Jake Nelson, Dustin Filloon and Calvin Dhondt. Knutson was pressured several times by Filloon but held on until a pair of cautions on lap 11, first for debris and then on the restart for Zach McNeese in turn two. Knutson held off Filloon and Dhondt until the white flag lap. Dhondt led the final lap to take the feature win. Knutson finished second, Filloon in third, Corey VanDerWilt came home with a strong fourth place finish and Sam West was fifth.

Final feature of the night was the Outlaw 2 Man Cruisers fifteen lap feature. Corey VanDerWilt and Brett Maasdam led the entire way and going on to take the feature win. The only caution came out when Andrew Hoeger and Dan Vorwold spun in turn two on lap six. Kerry Davis and Corey Davis finished second. Jerome and Preston Kline was third, Hoeger and Vorwold came back to finish fourth. Ray Hill / Austin Schuring rounded out the top five.

Pospisil Takes SLMR and Schaforth Claims Stock Cars at Stuart

This season I haven't done too many Sunday night races but I decided I would make the 1.5 hour drive from Marshalltown to Stuart and take in the SLMR Super Sunday Show at the Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Speedway. It was a beautiful night for racing a little on the chilly side for a mid-June race but the racing action was action filled all night.

Eighty-four cars signed including 22 Malvern Bank West Series SLMR Late Models. The Late Models was originally scheduled to be there on April 23rd but mother nature forced the postponement and rescheduled to June 11th. This also forced the Stuart Speedway to move the Wednesday June 14th's Bill Davis Sr Memorial Race to August 9th.

My plans was to keep notes to write this blog recap and take pictures during hot laps, time trials and heat races but that changed when track announcer Tony Paris asked if I would do the invocation and victory lane interviews on the night. I said yes so it meant my camera got put aside again In favor for a microphone. Thanks Mike Van Genderen and Tony Paris for letting me fill in doing the victory lane interviews.

First feature of the night was the John's Tree Service IMCA Sport Compacts fourteen lap feature event. Cullen Gossage wrestled the lead early from fellow front row starter Jeremiah Downing. Gossage held on to the top spot until lap four when Omaha, Nebraska's Anthony Clark took the top spot away. Terry Bickford took second away from Gossage on lap five and started to pressure Clark for the lead. Bickford was able snatch up the lead on lap ten, then hold off Clark to take the feature win. Clark finished second, Gossage came home third, Owen Richards was fourth and Kolby Sabin was fifth.

Matt Avila took the early lead of the Karl's Pre-Owned IMCA Sport Mods 20 lap feature event with young Gage Hilgenberg running second. Garrett Nelson and then Brayton Carter took second and third away putting Hilgenberg back to fourth but cautions came out on lap two when Dalton Davis and David Simpson got together in turn two and then on the restart when Davis spun in turn two as Josalyn Elmquist makes heavy contact with the front stretch wall. Avila worked the low side on the restart as Carter worked the high side until another caution came out on lap six for Mike Dullard and Tyler Heckart in turn two. Avila looked to be able to fend off Carter until three more cautions came out on laps thirteen and fourteen. Carter managed to take the lead away from Avila just prior to the caution coming out on lap fifteen. Carter held on to take the feature win ahead of Avila, Kaylin Lopez, Mitchell Morris and Garrett Nelson.

After a brief track prep session was now time for the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series (SLMR) 30 lap feature event. "The Crazy One" Jesse Sobbing led the first six circuits before Justin Zeitner took the lead away on lap seven. Zeitner started to pull away only to have lap traffic slow him down allowing second place Tad Pospisil and Sobbing to chase him down. The caution came out on lap 16 for a car on the back stretch. Zeitner got a great restart despite by the pressure from Pospisil and Sobbing, he looked as if he was going to claim the win but that all changed on lap 25. Justin Zeitner had a right rear tire blow out forcing the caution to come out, that handed the lead over to Pospisil. Pospisil fresh off a 9.5 hour trip to Stuart after racing the Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway in Ohio managed to fend off Sobbing and Corey Zeitner on the restart but the caution came out on lap 29 forcing a green-white-checkered finish when Corey Zeitner spun in turn four. Pospisil was not going to be denied going on to take the feature win. Sobbing was second, Bill Leighton quietly came home in third, Zach Zeitner was fourth and Jason Hahne was fifth.

In the "Wild Thing" Rick's Towing IMCA Hobby Stocks 16 lap feature event it was Danny Foster leading the first lap. Curt Reed was able to take the top spot away on lap two meanwhile battle behind him for positions was heating up. Reed look comfortable out front until Luke Ramsey chased him down prior to the caution on lap nine for Skylar Pruitt on the front stretch. Reed held off Ramsey and Rusty Bates on the restart and continued to lead until Ramsey showed his strength on lap 15. Ramsey took the top spot away just prior to the caution on lap 15 for Carson Rening on the back stretch. Ramsey held off Reed and "Squishy" Solomon Bennett on the restart to take the feature win. Reed was second, Bennett was third, Bates was fourth and Jared Smith came home in fifth.

Final feature of the night was the Affordable Quality Roofing & Exteriors IMCA Stock Cars 20 lap feature event. "The Flyin' Bomb Pop" Micah Hidlebaugh led the first four laps before Casey "Weiner" Woken took the lead away on lap five. The first caution came out shortly after for Casen Keller in turn four. Woken got a great restart but Hidlebaugh refused to go away and continued to pressure Woken for the race lead. Hidlebaugh could not reclaim the lead. The caution came out on lap 10 for Tyson Partridge, Austin Meiners and John Kinser in turn two. Woken got another great restart, only to see the caution come out for Nick Roberts in turn two. Woken now had to fend off Buck Schafroth and Hidlebaugh on the restart and initial did. Schafroth made the effort to get by Woken and pulled the sliders with two to go but Woken was able to cross over to fend it off. On the last lap though Woken slipped up allowing Schafroth to take the lead away and go on to take the feature win. Woken, Austin Bouzek, Hidlebuagh and "The General" Troy Jerovetz rounded out the top five.

Next race at the Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Speedway is on Wednesday June 21st. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA Sport Compacts and Outlaw Mini Mods are on the card. Gates Open at 5p, Hot Laps at 6:45p, Racing to Follow.
