Well this Friday night started out just like most friday's do and that is in question of whether or not we would race. Well the answer to that question was we were racing tonight and just as cars were rolling in the pits a light rain shower came down but it was short lived and we were able to go racing.
The night started with the annual Fastor Pastor race, then it was the qualifying heat races and b-features need to set the field. After all of that it was time for the features.
First feature of the night was the 15 Lap O'Reilly Auto Parts Mod Lites Feature. Colby Oberemebt would lead the first 14 laps but encounter the lap car of Larry Sorenson and Mike Morrill took advantage and made a last lap move in the last corner to take the win in the green-to-checkered feature, Oberemebt would end up 2nd. Tim Hennigar, Eric Hendrickson and Josh May rounded out the top 5.
The Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Sport Mods were up next for their 15 Lap feature. Gatlin Leytham and Lauren Vis led the field to the green. Leytham would take advantage right away but as he would start to pull away the first race caution would come out when the Jason Severance loses a driveshaft in turn 3. Leytham would continue to set the pace but on lap 5 Zack Rawlins would make the move on Leytham and take over the top spot. On lap 6 antoher caution came out when the Brett Moffitt and Carter VandenBerg get together in turn 1. Rawlins would resume command and look to be pulling away but Cayden Carter was coming. Rawlins would see some sparks coming out of the right front the last 5 laps in the corners this would allow Carter catch up and make the pass for the lead on the last lap. Carter takes the win, Rawlins was 2nd, Leytham was 3rd, Doug Smith was 4th and Point Leader Eric Flander was 5th.
Up Next was The Class "Too Tough To Be Tamed" the Aaron's IMCA Stock Cars for their 18 Lap feature. Rick Brown and Tracy Gienger would lead them to the green and Gienger would take advantage right away and go on and lead all 18 laps in the green-to-checkered feature. Dustin Smith was 2nd, Trent Murphy was 3rd, Damon Murty was 4th and Brown finished 5th.
Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel IMCA Modifieds was up next for their 20 lap feature. Brett Ladehoff and Todd Shute lead the field to the green and again "Toddzilla" would take command right away, he would start to pull away only to see the first yellow come out on lap 8 when Josh Gilman would break something and spin in turn 2 and then would be hit by Brett Ladehoff and Daniel Hilsabeck, Ladehoff would keep moving so got his spot back, Gilman and Hilsabeck would end up on the hook. Just 2 laps later, Shute and the field would see another caution for debris in turn 3 as Ladehoff would lose his right side door. Shute wouldn't let these faze him but on lap 15 the final race caution came out for debris in turn 4 and Todd Conrad spun in turn 2. Shute would still hold on but would have Richie Gustin and Mike O'Lear battling for the top spot. O'Lear would about roll the car but was able to keep it going. Shute would lead the entire 20 laps and take the win. Richie Gustin was 2nd, Randy Havlik was 3rd, Mike O'Lear was 4th and Denny Rosenberg was 5th.
The final feature of the night was the Junction Bar & Grille IMCA Hobby Stocks 12 Lap feature. Gary Pfantz would start on the pole and lead the first 2 laps but he would be Eric Stanton on lap 3. Stanton to be looking to go on to the win but Calvin Dhondt said not so fast as Dhondt would race door-to-door with Stanton coming out of turn 4 and take the win. Behind Dhondt and Stanton it was Michael Murphy, Eric Larson and Devin Smith.
