Elliott Remains Perfect In the Stock Cars at the Historic Hamilton County Speedway

After 2 previous nights at the races i decided to make it 3 nights in a row by making the trek from Marshalltown to the Historic Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City with a 120 cars signed in to do battle.

After Hot Laps for the Stock Cars, Modifieds and Late Models it was time for the Make-up features and first out Chalfant Plumbing Stock Cars for 15 laps. Reid Keller would take the early lead but "Terminator" Mark Elliott would make the pass on lap 6 and go on and take the win in the green-to-checkered feature. Keller was 2nd, Jason Wagoner was 3rd, Scott Bloemke was 4th and Jim Mitchell was 5th.

George White Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds were up next for their 20 lap make-up feature. The oringinal start was called back and when they did get going it was "The Flyin Banana" Mike Jergans taking the lead. Jergans would hold that lead until lap 11 when Richie Gustin would make the pass for the lead. A lap later on lap 12 a caution came out for JD Auringer and Scott Olson getting together and then 5 laps later on lap 17 for debris in turn 4. Gustin would still manage to take the win. Justin Sackett, Jergans, Jeremy Mills and Jon Snyder would finish 2nd through 5th.

In the Fort Dodge Ford IMCA Late Models 25 laps make-up feature, they would see the yellow coming out for a car getting turned around on the front stretch. When the race got going it was veteran Craig Jacobs taking the top spot but then the caution again would come out on lap 2 for Scott Badker losing the handle in turn 2 and then on the restart they had a red flag for a pile up that was blocking the race track in turn 3 & 4.  Jacobs wouldn't let them bother him and would begin to stretch his lead and start lapping cars when the final race caution came out on lap 12 for Ryan Griffith, who blew up and dumped a lot of fluid. Jacobs would get a good restart and do the exact same and go on to the win. "Iron Man" Darrel DeFrance, Kyle Wahlert, Al Johnson and "Hollywood" Jason Hahne would all finish behind Jacobs.

After those features were completed they did a little track work by pulling out the box grader and grader some of the race track where there was rough spots like in turn 1 and turn 3. Also they had scheduled hot laps for Hornets, Hobby Stocks and Sport Mods after the make-up features but decided to scratch that and just begin racing so after all the heats and a Sport Mod B-feature it was feature time.

The First regular feature of the night was the Hornets 6 lap feature. Jarid Kuchenreuther would take the lead but Adam Strunk would make the pass for lead on lap 4 and go on and take the win in the green-white-checkered feature. Mike McFarland would finish 2nd, Kuchenreuther was 3rd, Daniel Ayers was 4th and Devin Collins was 5th.

McDonald's IMCA Hobby Stocks were up next for 12 laps and it was Blake Miller taking the early race lead. Miller would be passed by Craig Graham on lap 3 though. After that the next 4 laps had 1 caution each lap, first one on lap 4 for a pile-up in turn 2, second one on lap 5 for a car losing the handle, third one on lap 6 for Miller and Robert See would make contact with each other,  fourth one on lap 7 for a driveshaft on the front stretch meanwhile on the restart of the lap 6 caution it was Kevin Fee taking the lead away from Graham. 2 laps later the final race caution came out on lap 9 for Adam Hagan coming to a stop on the frontstretch. Fee took the victory, Brad Ratcliff got 2nd, Robert See would end up 3rd, Graham fell back to 4th and Corey Roe was 5th.

It took 4 heats and a b-feature to get the field down from 28 to 24 in the Conley's Trucking IMCA Sport Mods. It was Oskaloosa's Cayden Carter taking the spot early in the 15 lap feature and not looking back despite cautions on lap 5 and 9. Carter would get the win and Jeremy Embrey would get 2nd. Carter Vandenberg, Matt Lettow and Duane Van Deest rounded out the top 5.

Chalfant Plumbing Stock Cars was up next for 15 laps. Dennis Plain would lead the first 2 laps but "Terminator" Mark Elliott would make the pass on lap 3 and go on and take the win in the green-to-checkered feature, Elliott would get his 2nd of the night and 4th in a row in the Stock Cars. Jason Wagoner, Travis Prochaska, Jim Mitchell and Dennis Plain finish 2nd through 5th behind Elliott.

George White Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds for 20 laps came out. Jeremy Mills would take the lead and not look back despite many challenges and 3 race cautions. First caution came out on lap 8 when a car got in the front stretch wall. 2nd caution came out on lap 12 for a car going around and the final caution was on lap 17 for debris. Mills would still manage to take the win. J.D. Auringer was 2nd, Richie Gustin was 3rd, Adam Larson was 4th and Todd Shute was 5th.

The Final feature of the night was the Fort Dodge Fort IMCA Late Models for 25 laps. This feature was caution filled before the halfway point and before 1 lap was in the books a caution came out. When racing got going it was Ben Nading in the lead. Todd Cooney would make the pass on lap 9 and take the victory, Nading would finish 2nd. Ryan Giles, Craig Jacobs and Darrel DeFrance was 3rd through 5th.
