Marshalltown Speedway returned with Friday night racing action on Minute Man Printing, Rumours Sports Bar & Grille, and 1-800 BETS OFF Salute to Law Enforcement, First Responders, and EMT's Night. The racing action was exciting all night long, and the race track was in great shape all night, thanks to J-Van and the track prep team. Tom Berry Jr brought out his Open Modified taking a few hot laps and he hot lapped the Rick Dralle Motorsports Late Model in preparation for next week's Dale DeFrance Memorial.
One hundred-three cars checked in to tame the high-banked quarter-mile dirt oval on Friday. The first green flag was waived at 7:30 p.m., and the final checkered flag was waived at 9:44 p.m. Thanks to all who came out this week to the races, including a bus full of veterans from the Iowa Veteran's Home. Thank you for your service, and as you were leaving, I saw many of you leaving happy.

Knight Santition IMCA STARS Mod Lites feature event was the first on the track for their 15-lap feature event. Travis Stensland grabbed the top spot early and fended off Jason Masengarb and Ben George. The first caution of the race came out on lap six when Michael Dominguez expired and came to a stop on the front stretch with a small fire. Stensland had to continue with Masengarb and Dillon Raffurty on the restart. Raffurty grabbed the second spot and then took over the top spot on lap nine. Later on lap 10, the caution came when Cory Sonner, Tracen Glick, and Scott Jordan were in turn two. Raffurty got a great restart and went on to take his second win in Motown this season. Masengarb, eleventh-place starter Jon Padilla, Josh May, and Alex Eischeid round out the top five.
Chris Burke took the top spot early in the Rugged Radios IMCA Friesen Performance Northern Sport Mods 16-lap feature event. The caution came out shortly after lap one was completed for Matt Avila spinning in turn two and Sierra Rose Gary in turn one. Burke held off Colton Livzey and Eddie Ingram on the restart initial, but on lap five, Ingram took the top spot away. Ingram led until lap 12, when "Speedy Bray" Brayton Carter took the top spot, prior to the caution coming out when Zander Keeland spun in turn one. Carter went on to take his fourth win of the season in Marshalltown. Ingram came home in second, Colton Livezey finished third, Carter VanDenBerg was fourth, and Jenae Gustin was fifth.
In the Drury Automotive and Truck Repair IMCA Stock Cars 20-lap feature event, Kaden Reynolds out-wrestled Garrett Corn and Dakoda Sellers for the top spot. Reynolds pulled away as the battle for second on back heated up. Kyle Olson took the second spot away, started to reel in Reynolds, and got within a car length before Reynolds caught lap traffic. Reynolds was able to gap it back up and go on to take his second feature win of the season at Motown. Olson finished second, Sellers was third, ninth-place starter Michael Jaennette was fourth, and Jay Schmidt was fifth.
David Brown led the first two laps of the Tire Demon by Love Tap IMCA Friesen Performance Modifieds 20-lap feature event. "T-Dub" Tim Ward took the top spot away on lap three. Ward pulled away from the field as Dallon Murty and Dylan Thornton worked their way through the field. Ward was reeled in by Thornton but hung on to capture his 100th career IMCA win. Thornton finished second, Murty was third, Tripp Gaylord was fourth, and Todd Shute was in fifth.
In the Hy-Vee of Marshalltown, the IMCA Sport Compacts 15-lap feature event. Kord Sellers led the first lap before David Kimmel took the top spot on lap two. Kimmel fought off Spencer Roggentien and Cristian Grady, but the caution came out on lap four when Sellers lost a tire and Michael Gardner nearly went for a roll after running over the tire. Grady took the top spot away on lap seven from Kimmel. Kimmel had to contend with Roggentien and held him off until lap 12. Grady went on to claim his third win of the season. Roggentien, Kimmel, Jeremy Williams, and Campbell Tressler rounded out the top five.
The final feature of the night was the Cappy's Big 8 Tyre Center IMCA Hobby Stocks 16-lap feature. Eric Knutson grabbed the top spot early, fending off Brett Maasdam and Calvin Dhondt. The first caution came out on lap three for Aidan Lamasters in turn one. Knutson continued to hold off Dhondt after the restart. Dhondt refused to go away, and he took the top spot away on lap ten for Lamasters spinning in turn two. Dhondt held on to take his fourth win of the season in Motown. Knutson finished second, Corey VanDerWilt was third, Sam West was fourth, and Bradly Graham was fifth.
