Hamilton County Speedway Scenarios

New Season and new life at the Historic Half Mile the Hamilton County Speedway is about to come to an end. This year hard work every week by the Hamilton County Fairboard, Al Urhammer (track prep) and a smoothly ran show by Track Manager Mike Van Genderen.

The track has on the schedule a Fall Challenge for the last weekend in September so check out hamiltoncospeedway.com for information about the possibility of that track points however come to an end this saturday.

Points Clinching Scenarios
Saturday will be run like a normal show with heats and features being lined up on your points average.

Motor Inn of Webster City IMCA Late Models
Ryan Griffith has 12 points lead over Darrel DeFrance going into Saturday Night meaning based on the car count average this year is start the feature event or finish in the top 3 in the heat (since this season the highest weekly count for the late models was 10) ...... So it appears that Griffith is heading on to win his second track championships in two years and third of his career at his hometown track in the Late Models.

Darrel DeFrance needs to make 12 points up but really needs to make up 13 points since Griffith would have the tiebreaker (5 wins compared to 4 wins for DeFrance). So based on the car count, Darrel needs to win the heat race and Griffith to not finish in top 3 in the heat race and then finish 1st and Griffith finish 11th but it seems its far fetch since the most cars on a weekly show have been 10 cars........ If DeFrance is able to make up the difference he would claim his sixth track title and first one since 2010.

Jason Hahne will clinch third in points by starting Saturday

Al Johnson needs to finish 6th or better to clinch fourth in points.

Paul Conrad needs to finish 6 spots better than Al Johnson to grab the fourth spot in points otherwise he has clinched a top 5 finish in points

George White Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds
Mark Elliott has pretty much clinched the track championship in the Modifieds because going into season championship night he has a 29 point advantage so all he has to do is mathematically is start the feature ......... For Elliott this would be back to back years as a track champion in the Modifieds and his fourth in the Modifieds being sanctioned IMCA, i believe he won the Modifieds a few times when the Modifieds weren’t sanctioned.

Devin Havlik sits second in points heading into Saturday and mathematically won’t be able to move up since he is behind by 29 points. Havlik has mathematically clinched second in points

Scott Olson appears to be settling for third in points as he needs Havlik to either not show up or 21 cars to show up to force a tie.

Tyler Prochaska will finish fourth in points at least but if 17 cars show up he can move to third if Olson finished last.

Greg Elliott claims the fifth spot despite missing the last 3 weeks because Rodney Slagle has been driving the car.

Chalfant Plumbing Stock Cars
Stock Car class has been an exciting division to watch all year and it appears the points wont be settled until the final checkered flag of the night as the top 2 are separate by 2 points.

Steve Meyer comes in to Saturday night with a 2 point lead over Mark Elliott and has lived up to his nickname of mister consistency as he has finished no worst 5th except once where he finish 10th.....So the simple Scenario for Meyer is finish 2nd and clinch the track title even if Mark Elliott wins.

Mark Elliott needs to finish 2 spots ahead of Meyer to grab the track title because Elliott holds the tiebreaker (4 wins to Meyer’s 2 wins)

John Campbell sits third and could jump to the top if 21 cars sign in and Meyer and Elliott finish last but it seems logically that he will end up third or fourth in points.

Jim Mitchell look grab third away from Campbell if he finishes 12 spots ahead of Campbell.

Jason Van Sickel most likely ends up fifth in points as he would need to finish 15 spots ahead of Mitchell to advance to fourth.

Conley Trucking IMCA Sport Mods
Matt Lettow has clinched the 2013 track championship in the Sport Mod Division to grab his first track title at Webster City since he won the inaugural year of the IMCA Sport Mods at HCS in 2009.

Rocky Caudle is guaranteed a top five finish in points and appears to be heading on to finish second in points because all he will have to do is finish 10th or better even if Coty Albers wins.

Coty Albers will finish in the top 5 in points and could finish second if he wins and Caudle finish 11th.

Brandon Leeman sits in the fourth spot in points and could end up second if he wins and Caudle finishes 24th, Albers finishes 14th otherwise to grab third he has to finish 13 spots ahead of Albers.

Shawn Albers needs a little help to move up but appears to finish fifth in points.

Casady Brothers Implement IMCA Hobby Stocks
Randy Embrey has a 6 point advantage heading into Saturday Night over Cory Roe so he needs to finish 7th or better to clinch the championship as long as Roe doesn’t win so a Top 6 finish the title is Embrey’s........This would be the second year in a row that Embrey claims the track title if he is able to hold on!

Cory Roe is having a great year and could grab the track title if he finishes 7 spots ahead of Embrey. Roe if he wins and Embrey finishes 7th, they would be tied and Roe would be the track champion because of wins.

Craig Graham and Myles Michehl are sitting third and fourth and are separate by 1 point and are 18 and 19 pts behind Embrey, they could make things interesting if the top 2 have issues and there is at least 20 cars on Saturday.

Daniel Ayers and Ty Griffith are separated by 5 points in the fifth and sixth position so they are batting for position.

Obehelman Trucking IMCA Sport Compacts
Adam Strunk looking to take his first track title at his hometown track and it appears all he will have to do is take the green flag in the heat or feature to do so.

Danny Sassman Jr. appears to have clinched the second spot in points unless a miracle of cars sign in that allows Haggard to get by.

Dustin Haggard will finish third in points no matter what unless he can grab the second spot in points from Sassman.

Keep in mind the Modifieds were non-sanctioned from 1992 to 2007.

Stock Cars have been un-sanctioned since 2000 but are running IMCA type Rules looking to be possibly sanctioned next year.
