Marriott, Schafroth, Smith, Bennett and Vannausdle Claim Final Ron Little Memorial Victories

Tuesday Night saw an end to the Ron Little Memorial after 20 years remembering a great man lost way too soon Mother's Day Weekend in 1999. Mary College and the Little Family put a lot of hard work making this night a special one so thank you for all your hard work, this may have been the final ride but I know Ron was smiling down on you all for your great work.

Before the racing got underway a touching story about Ron Little was read to everybody in attend or watching on Race Cast Live and honestly It made me tear up because I never got to meet Ron but I knew his legacy. The pre-race prayer was done by Reverend Michael "Wombat" Walrod and you my friend, your pre-race prayers always amazing and top notch. Jerry Van Sickel and Coty Mallicoat did amazing job announcing the Final Ron Little Memorial. Mike Van Genderen and the track prep crew did a fantastic job on the racing surface. The Ron Little #Finalride Story read during pre-race ceremonies can be found here : Ron Little Final Ride Story.

One Hundred-Forty One Cars signed in to the Stuart International Speedway for the Ron Little Memorial "Final Ride" including Forty Seven Karl Chevrolet of Stuart IMCA Modifieds. Thirty-One Affordable Quality Roofing & Exteriors IMCA Stock Cars, 27 Rick's Towing IMCA Northern Sport Mods, 18 Pitts Lawn Service IMCA Hobby Stocks and 18 John's Tree Service IMCA Sport Compacts were also checked in on the night. Tony Wenck provided Fireworks that was shot off just after the Stock Car feature event from Tony Wenck's Factory Outlet Fireworks located on Highway 92 in Winterset.  This race was also part of the Arnold Motor Supply Midwest Madness Tour presented by Western Iowa Racing Results.

Two, Three and four wide race occur many times through out the night and I know Ron Little and many of the other great legends lost they were smiling and enjoying the action from heaven. Final Checkered Flag was displayed just before 11 pm.

First feature of the night was the Affordable Quality Roofing & Exteriors IMCA Stock Cars 25 lap feature event. Brandon Pruitt and Buck Schafroth redrew the front row. Schafroth wrestled the lead away from the start but had 8 time IMCA National Champion Mike Nichols chasing him down just as lap traffic started to appear. Brandon Pruitt, Todd Van Eaton, Chris Pruitt and Bryan Snell race for position before they approached the lap traffic. The only caution came out on lap 21 when Snell spun in turn four. Schafroth held off Nichols to take his fifth win in Stuart. Brandon Pruitt finished third, twelveth place starter Kyle Brown finished fourth and Chris Pruitt was fifth.

After a Firework show the Rick's Towing IMCA Northern Sport Mods 20 lap feature was next up. Doug Smith grabbed the lead early before the caution came out on lap two for Ed Hamilton, Mitchell Morris and Bryan Morris got together in turn two. Smith got a great restart and never looked back in route to taking the win. Thomas Egenberger ran second most of the distance. Brayton Carter, Hunter Longnecker and seventh place Jake Sachau rounded out the top five.

Karl Chevrolet of Stuart IMCA Modifieds Ron Little Memorial 30 lap feature when green to checkered caution free with the Hustler Hunter Marriott leading wire to wire. Marriott had to battle early with Josh Most before pulling away and catching lap traffic just past halfway. Marriott became the 13th and final winner of the Ron Little Memorial. Defending Super Nationals Champion Jeff Aikey moved up from tenth to finish second. Fourteenth place starter Jesse Sobbing finished third, Most slipped back to fourth and California's Cody Laney finished fifth.

Mitchell Bunch led the first lap of the John's Tree Service IMCA Sport Compacts 15 lap feature before Chris Vannausdle took the lead away on lap two. The caution came out on lap three when Nikole Kimmel spun in turn four. Vannausdle and the field saw the caution come out again on lap four when James Reeves made contact with Shannon Mahlberg in turn four. Vannausdle and Ramsey Meyer battled it out for the race lead with Vannausdle held on to the top spot and the win. Just as Vannausdle and Meyer crossed the finish line for the checkers the caution flag came out for Kolby Sain, Hunter Patrick and Ryan Barnes in turn two. Tyler Fiebelkorn, Bunch and Colton Garside rounded out the top five.

Final feature of the night was the Pitts Lawn Service IMCA Hobby Stocks 16 lap feature and this feature produced its own form of fireworks. The caution came out before a single lap was scored for Matthew Wahl spinning in turn two. "Missile" Miciah Hidlebaugh grabbed the early race lead until Corey Madden worked his way up to second. Hidlebaugh and Corey Madden began to battle for the race lead until the caution came out on lap four when Richard Pahlka spun in turn two right in front of the leaders. Hidlebaugh on the bottom and Corey Madden on the cushion resumed their battle only to see the caution come out on lap six for Dustin Thompson sitting in turn four after contact with Jerry Richards. The next caution came out on lap eight when Nick Foster made contact with Dylan Nelson in turn four. Hidlebaugh and Madden continued their intense battle but little did they know eleventh place starter Solomon Bennett was waiting his time. Bennett took the lead away on lap 12 and a lap later the caution came out when Hidlebaugh was spun in turn three by Corey Madden. Bennett held on to take the feature win. Chuck Madden Jr, Jack Phillips, Zach Hemmingsen and Adam Ayers finished second through fifth respectively.

Stuart International Speedway returns to action next Wednesday July 10th for the Clint Walrod Memorial featuring the STARS Mod Lites $500 to win. The race is in honor of Wombat's son and to prevent Stop Teen Suicide. Sponsors include Motorsports Warehouse, Wyffels Hybrids, Stuart Hearld, The Four County Bulletin and National Suicide Prevention Hotline. Also racing Stock Cars, Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, Sport Compacts, Micro Sprints and 2 Man Cruisers.

Next up for the Foxman is a trip over to the Benton County Speedway to work turns one and two for the 25th Annual Hogan Memorial. So because of working the corner there will be no recap from me however my friends from Positively Racing will be in the house just like they were in Stuart last night.
