Just as fast as the season starts for track points, it has to come to an end, on Friday Night it was Season Championship Night sponsored by Matt Baker Racing and Gisch Repairs at the Hancock County Speedway. It was hot and steamy both on and off the track but that did not prevent Sixty-One Cars sigining in to race.
Seventeen IMCA Modifieds, 13 House Motorsports IMCA Sport Mods, 15 Quick Performance IMCA Stock Cars, 12 MPM Marketing IMCA Hobby Stocks and 4 IMCA Sport Compacts. Feature Winners on the Night was Nick Meyer (Modifieds), Matt Speckman (Stock Cars), Autum Anderson (Sport Mods), Drew Barglof (Hobby Stocks) and Oliver Monson (Sport Compacts). A few track championships were decided by the final checkered flag including the Stock Cars which came down to a tiebreaker. Jeremy Mills (Modifieds), Dan Mackenthun (Stock Cars), George Nordman (Sport Mods), Cory Probst (Hobby Stocks) and Jade Lange (Sport Compacts) was all crowned 2019 Track Champions.
First feature of the night was for the IMCA Sport Compacts 8 lap feature event. Jade Lange led the first four laps holding off Oliver Monson. Monson finally took the lead away on lap five and went on to take his third win in Britt. Lange finished second but took the track championship by simpily sigining in. Brad Mayland finished third amd Sam Umbarger was fourth.
Mathew Hanson and Autum Anderson led the 15 lap House Motorsports IMCA Sport Mods feature event to the green flag. Anderson wrestled the lead away from Hanson and she began to flex her muscles until a caution came out on lap ten when her father Jamie Anderson spun in turn three. Anderson was determined to not be denied her first win and held off late race challenges from Colby Fett and Josh Appel, to grab her first win. Fett finished second, Appel was third, Hanson fell back to fourth and tenth place starter Austin Schrage finished fifth. George Nordman finished home sixth but claimed the track championship by six points over Alec Fett, who finished seventh.
Quick Performance IMCA Stock Cars 15 lap feature event saw Rookie Chanse Hollatz grab the early lead from his pole position starting spot but the caution came out just after one lap was scored in the books when Austin Brands slid off the top side of turn three. Hollatz held off Racing Veterans Randy Brands and Kevin Opheim on the restart but the caution came out on lap five for Austin Jahnz going off turn one. The caution came out again on lap nine for Wayne Landheer. Hollatz continued to lead until Kelly Shryock worked his way from seventh to take the lead away on lap 12. Shryock lead was short lived as Matt Speckman took the lead away on lap 13 and went on to take the win back to Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Shryock, Hollatz, Brands and Chad Palmer rounded out the top five with Dan Mackenthun in sixth. Palmer and Mackenthun tied in the final standings for track points but Mackenthun will be 2019 track champion by virtue of tiebreaker on wins, Mackenthun had one and Palmer had none.
Scott Dobel led the first seven laps of the MPM Marketing IMCA Hobby Stock feature before the caution came out for Charlie Stevens in turn four. Drew Barglof took the lead away on the restart and held on to lead the final eight laps to take his second win of the season. Barglof was followed across the line by Cody Nielsen, Brandon Nielsen, Cory Probst and Dobel. Probst claimed the track championship by seven points.
In the final feature of the night, Troy Swearingen led the opening three laps of the 20 lap IMCA Modifieds before Nick Meyer wrestled the lead away. Meyer cruised on to the easy win, his third of the season in Britt. Swearingen held on to his best finish of the season. JJ Wise was third, Kelly Shryock was fourth and Ben Kraus was fifth. Jeremy Mills made a last lap past to finish sixth, which was just enough for him to claim the track championship ahead of Shryock.
