Saturday Night made my first trip to the Boone Speedway for some exciting racing action at the track known as Iowa's Action Track. One Hundred and Fifty two cars signed in to the back game plus five two man cruisers. The race track was fast and slick again and there was exciting battles through out the field.
MyRacePass Mod Lites 15 lap feature was first after a farming session, Tanner Gannon took advantage from his pole position by grabbing the lead on lap one. Gannon battled with Mike Kennedy on lap two, meanwhile still holding on to the top spot. On lap three, Randy Bryan was able to make the move and steal the lead away. Bryan held off Kennedy and Charlie Brown until a caution came out on lap ten for Cody Yaw spinning in turn four. Brown got a great restart and held off Bryan to take the feature win. Bryan finished second, Kennedy was third. Ninth place starter Bryan Zehm came across in fourth and eleventh place starter Joel Huggins was fifth.
Thomas Egenberger jumped out to the early race lead in the Elmquist Towing IMCA Sport Mods 18 lap feature. Egenberger was following by Tyler Titus until Titus got black flag for what appeared to be fuel leaking. Egenberger led until the caution came out on lap 12 when Billy Dyer spun in turn four. On the restart, it was Doug Smith bulldog his way to the race lead. Shortly after the lap was scored the caution came out again on lap 13 when Danny Fye spun in turn three. Smith saw the caution come out one more time on lap 15 when Chad Ryerson made spun on the backstretch after making contact with Dustin Lynch, Curtis Veber was also involved as he had no where to go and made contact with Ryerson. Smith held on to take the win ahead of Cam Reimers, Egenberger, Austin Kaplan amd Colton Nelson.
Snap-On Tools IMCA Modifieds 20 lap feature event was up next on to the speedway and it was Kyle Brown grabbing the race lead from his sixth place starting spot. Only thing slowing Brown was the cautions, first caution was on lap four for Justin McCreadie and Brandon Leeman in turns three and four. The second caution was on lap 12 when Denny Pittman came to a stop in turn three after heavy front end damage. Brown went on to take the checkers, Joel Rust finished second, Tim Ward was third, Russ Dickerson was fourth and Jake McBirnie was fifth.
Kyle Everts started on the pole and grabbed the early lead in the Arnold Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars 20 lap feature. Everts had Howard Gordon Jr, Justin Nehring and Jeff Mueller trying to take the top spot away but he held on to the lead until late. The first caution on lap eight for Kevin Opheim, Jay Schmidt, Craig Carlson and Mike Goldsberry in turn two. The second caution came out on lap 12 for Anthony Hofbauer spinning in turns three and four. Everts continued to lead until Donavon Smith and Devin Smith made their way through the field. Donavon Smith took the lead away from Everts on lap 16 and went on to take the win. Everts held off challenges from Devins Smith to take second. Devin Smith, Mueller and Tyler Pickett rounded out the top five.

Shaun Wirtz led the first nine laps of the Pickett Salvage IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature before Miciah Hidlebaugh chase him down. Hidlebaugh took the lead away and held off a late race charge from Eric Knutson to take the victory in the feature that went to green-to-checkered. Wirtz fell back to third, eleventh place starter Solomon Bennett work his way to fourth and tenth place starter Wayne Gifford was fifth.
Final feature of the night was the 2 Man Cruisers and it was the duo of Donnie Mason and Carl Hagan taking the win. Mason and Hagan used a caution on lap one to grab the lead away two laps later.
Hot Laps started at 5p, Racing started at 6p and Final Checkered flag was displayed by Chief Starter Logan Kelly at 9:41pm.
Boone Speedway is back in action next Saturday with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, MADCRA Mod Lites and Cruisers. Pit Gates Open at 3:30p, Grandstands at 4p, Hot Laps at 5p, Racing at 6p.
I will take Sunday Night off so my next scheduled race is Tuesday's Dale DeFrance Memorial Race at Marshalltown. After that the plan is the SLMR Late Models at Webster City on Thursday, Marshalltown or Brooklyn Raceway on Friday.
