After all the the Final night of Racing at the Brooklyn Raceway in 2020 got rocking and rolling on Night Two of the Fall Nationals presented by Lakeside Hotel & Casino. The racing was exciting and you could say the smackdown was laid down as drivers want to go home with a title belt for winning.
First feature of the night was the 30 lap Micro Sprints feature event. Zach Nelson wrestled the race lead from Dylan Larsen early and led until a caution on lap three for Morgan Dennis in turn two. Nelson led one more lap but Joe Dent took over the race lead on lap five. The caution came out on lap six when Josh Moffitt stopped in turn three. Michael Lange spun in turn four on lap seven bringing out another caution. Just after the completion of lap eight the caution came out one final time this time for Lucas Logue spinning in turn two leaving Dennis and Dallas Darnell nowhere to go forcing them to make contact. Dent held on and went on to take the feature win ahead of Hunter Lane. Lane finished second in the Travis Rewerts hot rod. Tyler Lee was third, Alex Vandervoort was fourth and Zach Nelson was fifth.
Dalton Sowers wrestled the early lead from pole sitter Brian Frederick in the 12 lap Front Wheel Drive feature event. Sowers held off challenges from Frederick until the caution came out for debris in turn two. Sowers continued to lead but Mark Smith got by Frederick to take over the runner-up spot before a caution came out on lap six when Jay Crabill spun in turn two. Sowers held off Smith to take the feature win. Smith was second, Frederick was third, Tyler Haring and John Schuring was fourth and fifth respectively.
Before a lap was completely scored in the Hobby Stocks 12 lap feature event, the caution came out when Bruce Kline spun in turn four. Brandan Long grabbed the race lead and managed to lead from start to finish. There was a caution on lap seven for Leroy Kline and Mike Goldsberry getting hooked together in turn four. Long was not to be denied going to grab the Fall Nationals win ahead of Bruce Kline, Anthony Goldsberry, Garrett Croy and Leroy Kline.
Tim McKee appeared to be the guy to beat in the Trucks Figure Eight 12 lap feature event but lap traffic came a factor on lap six allowing "Tiny" Dave Sellers to take over race lead. McKee grabbed the lead back on lap seven however some contact was made cutting a tire down on the McKee ride. The caution came out on lap eight when Bryan Stephenson stopped the middle. Sellers led the final four laps to take the win. Jerry Moffitt finished second, Michelle Keasling was third. McKee got fourth and Stephenson was fifth.
In the Cruisers 12 lap feature, there was a red flag on the first lap when Taylor Stoddard / Brent Bardwell ride caught fire near the fuel cell. After Brooklyn Fire got the fire out the race going going and the team of Mark Schuring / Jerret Utterback grabbed the race lead. Schuring / Utterback held off Duane Zander / Jesse Zander and then Corey Vanderwilt / Brett Maasdam. Schuring / Utterback won the track champion and managed to go on and claim the Fall Nationals feature win. Vanderwilt / Maasdam, Danielle Kline / Bruce Kline, Duane Zander / Jesse Zander and Trysten LaRue / Jason Rewerts rounded out the top five.
Brady Austin led the first lap of the Junior Front Wheel Drive feature event before he messed up resulting in the field to bunch up and Kole Adams spun in turn four. That gave the lead over to Addasyn Spain. Spain went on to take the feature win ahead of Zachary Cleghorn and DJ Albertson. Austin was fourth and Adams was fifth.
"Magic" Mike Vander Molen was crowned the track champion early in the day in the Stock Figure 8 class and grabbed the lead early from his outside front starting spot. Vander Molen led until the caution came out just after the completion of lap three when Ashton Hartwig and Lane Leerhoff get together in turn three. Anthony Goldsberry took the lead away and managed to hold of Mark Schuring to take the win. Schuring was second, Rick "Goose" Goldsberry was third, Dan Arnett was fourth and Lane "Farmer" Leerhoff was fifth.
Jerrod Thompson led all twelve laps of the Open Figure 8 feature event with his friend Jesse Sanders in tow the entire distance. John Watts ran third, Ted Armstrong was fourth and Jacob Lehman was fifth.
Final feature of the night was the 12 lap Pro-Stock Figure Eight feature event. Cameron Eichhorn took the race lead early after wrestling it away from Kyle Richardson. The caution came out on lap two for Aaron Roudabush spinning in the figure eight. Another caution came out on lap three when JR Tarter and Riley Cope get together in turn one. After lap four was scored the caution was displayed when Eichhorn and Brian Sterling getting together in turn four. Richardson inherited the lead on the restart but the caution came out one final time on lap seven when Tarter spun in turn three. Richardson led the final five laps fending off Roudabush to take the feature win. Eichhorn finished third, "Ageless" Butch Lester was fourth and Lehman was fifth.
