For the first time in history after trying and following victim to mother nature or covid-19, the Karl Auto Group of Marshalltown Speedway was able to have the King of the Highbanks. Thursday Night was night #1 with the Drury Automotive & Truck Repair IMCA Stock Cars running qualifying races, 2 sets of heats earning passing points. Their was fantastic racing all night and I was hearing from people tuning to catch the action in Motown.

Kaylin Lopez led the first three laps before "TO" Tony Olson took the lead away on lap four. Olson worked his from the ninth spot. Tire Demon by Love Tap & Freisen Performance IMCA Modifieds 25 lap Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational Qualifier was next on to the Highbanks. Before a single lap was completely scored the caution came out when Aaron Johnson ended up on his side after getting a little help. Dylan Thornton grabbed the top spot but that was short lived as Tim Ward worked his way by after starting third.  Their was cautions on lap five and a pair of cautions on lap 18. Ward never looked back, despite those cautions as he went on to take his second win at Motown in 2023, his eighth win of the calendar year of 2023. Ramsey led until lap seven when sixth place starter Eric Stanton was able to steal the lead away on lap seven. Calvin Dhondt and Erick Knutson entered the fun. Knutson took the lead away on lap 11 but then Knutson, Stanton and Dhondt started battling it out for the top spot. Dhondt went to the top side and gain momentum to take the lead away on lap 17. Dhondt held off Knutson and Stanton to take his second feature win in Motown. Knutson finished second, Ramsey got by Stanton for third, Stanton was fourth and Solomon Bennett was fifth.
