Friday Night it looked to be all systems a go for the 6th Annual Dale DeFrance Memorial presented by Vinyl Cup Records but just after SLMR Late Model Qualifying and three Sport Mod heat races, Mother nature decided to ruin the fun as thunderstorm and heavy rained popped up forcing speedway officials to cancel the races last night.
After discussion by Speedway officials and the SLMR Late Models Series officials, the decision was to make up the event, next Friday night at the Karl Auto Group of Marshalltown Speedway. So all drivers, pit crews are asked to keep their wristbands from last night and use them next week. All spectators on the grandstands are asked to bring their Kwik Star Ticket and red or blue tickets they received when they came in back next week to the ticket booth to get in free.
Next Friday Night, we will try it again at the Karl Auto Group of Marshalltown Speedway, the 6th Annual Dale DeFrance Memorial presented by Vinyl Cup Records featuring the Haulin' with Hoker Trucking SLMR Late Models for $4,644 to win. IMCA Modifieds are $3,044 to win, IMCA Stock Cars $1,444 to win, IMCA Sport Mods are $1,044 to win and IMCA Hobby Stocks are $744 to win. As I write this recap. Pits Open at 5:15p, Grandstands Open at 5:30p, Hot Laps at 6:55p, Racing at 7:30p. Grandstands will be $20 for Adults, Seniors & Veterans $15, Students (11-17) $15 and Kids (10 and Under) Free with a paid Adult. Pit Passes will be $35, Kids (3-12) $15 and 2 Years Old and Under are Free.
IMCA Mod Lites and Outlaw Mini Mods were scheduled for August 4th competition next Friday so check out the Marshalltown Speedway Facebook Page for information about next Friday night.
