Thursday Night the destination was the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway for Night #2 of 5 Frostbusters. The plan was to go and take in a great night of racing at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway and then i ended up helping out in the pits line up cars for the night.
The first feature of the night was the IMCA Hobby Stock feature and it was Eric Stanton leading all 15 laps to take the win. The only race caution came out on lap 3 for Gina Greubel. The win was the first for Stanton at the Fairgrounds, Dustin Griffith was 2nd, John Watson was 3rd, Donavon Nunnikhoven was 4th and Richard Yaw II was 5th.
Up next was the IMCA Stock Car feature and it was Current IMCA National Point Leader JC Howell from Gun Barrel, TX taking the early lead. Howell's lead would be short lived as a caution came out on lap 4 for Rob Schneider. On the restart Howell would be passed by Don Killen. Killen would have a side-by-side battle with Mike Nichols until lap 13 when the 2 would make contact with each other. Killen would remain in the lead until Dan Mackenthun would get in the picture on the last lap Killen would slip up and allow Mackenthun by to take the win, Nathan Wood would take 2nd, Killen was 3rd, Matt Greiner was 4th and Gary Bass was 5th.
Karl Chevrolet Dirt Trucks feature would see Carl Moyer lead all 10 laps despite several challenges from Bret Moyer. Carl Moyer took the win, Bret Moyer was 2nd, Tony Moro was 3rd, Rick Clark was 4th and Bryan Nevins Jr was 5th.
In the IMCA Sport Mods 16 lap feature there would be a seven car pile up in turn 3 and 4 that forced a red flag. When the racing got going it was Jenae Gustin taking the lead and not looking back because she would lead all 16 laps in route to the win. Bryan Lavirere was 2nd, Byron Weyer was 3rd, Scott Davis was 4th and Glenn Gladson Jr was 5th.
The final feature of the night was the IMCA Modifieds and it was Mark Elliott leading the race early but NASCAR Racing Veteran able to slip by on lap 5 and go on and take the win. Elliott, Jay Noteboom, Johnny Whitman and Tyson Turnbull rounded out the top 5.
Next Friday Night the Season gets underaway at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway in Des Moines with Casey's General Stores Night.
The Frostbusters continue Friday Night at the Marshalltown Speedway.
