Meyer, Cornelius, Whitehurst, Sidles and Monson Takes Night 2 Wins in Britt

The Hancock County Speedway wants to thank all the fans, drivers and crews for their patience on Friday Night. Moisture came up making the race track very slimy in the corners so after getting the race track rolled in. Fans and drivers was not disappointed despite the time it took get the track raceable.

Sixty-three cars signed into the Hancock County Speedway for night number two sponsored by Gisch Repairs and Mason City Auto Sales. Twelve IMCA Modifieds, sixteen House Motorsports IMCA Sport Mods, fifteen Quick Peformance IMCA Stock Cars, fifteen MPM Marketing IMCA Hobby Stocks and five IMCA Sport Compacts.

First feature of the night was the IMCA Sport Compacts 8 lap event. Oliver Monson led all eight laps taking his first win of the season. Rookie Jade Lange finished second, Sam Umbarger finished third and Ryan Bryant finished fourth. Spencer Nelson experienced troubles early in the night.

The MPM Marketing IMCA Hobby Stocks 15 lap feature event was next up on the speedway. Blaine Hanson wrestled the lead away from Chris Krug on the start but even Hanson's lead was short live when he slipped up in turn two allowing Greg Sidles to make the right move and take the top spot away. Greg Sidles saw the caution come out on lap eight for Zac Smith in turn two, on lap nine for Hanson spinning in turn two. Greg Sidles had to deal with Brandon Nielsen and Josh Sidles on the restart but held them off until the caution came out on lap 13 for  Nielsen in turn two. Greg Sidles now had Drew Barglof and Josh Sidles in the battle and he fend them off until the final lap. Josh Sidles made the right move out of turn four coming to the checkered flag stealing the win from Greg Sidles. Zac Smith worked back up to finish in third, Barglof was fourth and Cory Probst was fifth.

Calvin Lange led the opening lap in the Quick Performance IMCA Stock Cars 15 lap feature event but just after a lap was scored the caution came out when Austin Jahnz came to a rest in turn two. On the restart, Lange saw John Campbell take over the top spot. Campbell looked comfortable out front until the caution came out on lap five for Nathan Ely and Andrew Borchardt in turn three. Campbell, Lange and Dan Mackenthun battled for the race lead with Campbell still leading until Dean Cornelius worked his way from ninth to the race lead on lap nine. Cornelius and the field saw the caution come out on lap 12 for Kelly Shryock in turn four. Cornelius went on to take the win ahead of Campbell, Lange, Chad Palmer and Kevin Opheim.

Before a lap was scored in the House Motorsports IMCA Sport Mods 15 lap feature, Jason Bass spun in turn four after avoiding to make contact with Matthew Hanson. When the race got going it was George Nordman taking advantage of starting on the front row by pulling out to the lead however last weeks' winner Nate Whitehurst working his way from sixth. Whitehurst took the lead away from Nordman on lap six and pulled away to win back-to-back in Britt. Alec Fett took the second spot away from Nordman. Nordman took third, Bass worked his way back to finish fourth and Doug Cook making his debut in 2019 finish fifth.

Final feature of the night was the 20 lap IMCA Modifieds event. Nick Meyer wrestled the lead away early from fellow Whittemore Driver Cody Knecht. Only thing slowing Meyer down was the caution on lap three for debris in turn one and two but the defending track champion Meyer went on to take the win. Last week's winner Jeremy Mills worked his way from seventh to finish second. Austin Wolf came across the stripe in third with Kelly Shryock in fourth and Troy Swearingen in fifth.
