Originally it was supposed to be a Capital Signs Twin Topless 2-Fer weekend at Marshalltown and Boone, but the IMCA STARS Mod Lites wanted to join the fun, so it was going to be a Topless Triple Threat Doubleheader. Mother Nature had other plans, dumping almost 2 inches of rain Thursday night and early Friday morning, leaving the grounds extremely wet. Motown plans to reschedule. Meanwhile, on Saturday night, the Boone Speedway held its Capital Signs Topless Triple Threat.

Saturday night at Boone Speedway was also part of the Saturday Night Series. One hundred and sixty-six cars signed in to tame the 1/3-mile dirt oval, including 24 topless IMCA Modifieds, 45 topless IMCA Sport Mods and 23 topless IMCA Mod Lites. Over the last several weeks, Boone had been running multiple features in classes with a car count of about 38 cars; however, on this night, the sponsor Capital Signs said, 'We are going to run the normal format of heats, B-features if needed and one A-feature in all five classes.'

The racing action did not disappoint, as there were late-race lead changes. Rod Robbins and the team had a fantastic racing surface. Logan Kelly, great job on the sticks, and all in the final checkered flag waved just before the clock ticked to 10 pm.

The first of three topless feature events was the first feature of the night, the IMCA STARS Mod Lites presented by Carquest Auto, Truck and Farm 20-lap event. Garrett Barber jumped to the early lead. The only race caution came out on lap four when Joel Huggins broke his right front and came to a stop on the backstretch. Barber had to contend with Josh May, Grant Anderson and eleventh-place starter Austin Gray. Barber held them off until lap nine, when Grey got by for the race lead. Grey pulled away and never was really challenged even though lap traffic allowed May, Barber and Cory Sonner to reel in Gray. Grey went on to capture win number two of the season in Boone, with Josh May in second, Sonner in third, Grant Anderson in fourth and Colin Anderson in fifth. Barber fell back to sixth.

Next up in the Capital Signs Topless Triple Threat was the topless dirty 30-lapper for the IMCA Northern Sport Mods presented by Elmquist Towing. Cory Pesotnik outwrestled Camdan Vincent for the race lead at the drop of the green, and he was followed by Mike Smith, Brayton Carter, and Willy Kirk. Pestotnik continued to lead as Kirk worked his way to second, and tenth-place starter Cam Reimers worked his way to third. The first caution came out on lap nine when Dustin Lynch went off the top of turn four. Pestotnik hung on to the race lead until lap 15, when Reimers took it away just before the caution came out again. Reimers held off Pestotnik and Kirk on the restart, but one more caution came out on lap 23 when Tyler Nerud and Matt Avila slid off the top of turns one and two. Reimers went on to claim his third win of the season in Boone ahead of Kirk, Joe Reetz, Randy Havlik, and eleventh-place starter Hunter Poston.

The Capital Signs Triple Topless Dirty 30 for the IMCA Modifieds, presented by D&E Outdoor Services, was next. Izac Mallicoat appeared to flex his muscles by grabbing the race lead. The first caution came out when Jeremy Mills got sideways but kept going, resulting in Colton Nelson, Mike Van Genderen, David Solberg, and Rod Clement all getting into each other. Mallicoat fended off Trevor Fitz on the restart and pulled away. The caution came out on lap nine when Bret Ramsey spun in turn two and the next one on lap 12 when Jamie Anderson came to a stop at the top of turn four. Mallicoat looked to be heading on to the win despite Fitz and Mills trying to reel him in, but the caution came out one more time on lap 26 when Slade Hartwick spun in turn four. Mallicoat held the race lead until the white flag lap when the Californian, calling Iowa home, Fitz, was able to take the lead away. Fitz claimed win number three ahead of Mallicoat, Mills, Kyle Brown, and twentieth-place starter Brint Hartwick.

Ryan Roath took the race lead right away in the IMCA Stock Cars presented by Boone Moose Lodge 104. Mathew West ran second until the caution came out on lap 14 for debris in turn four and then a lap later when Scott Olson spun in turn two, collecting Kevin Opheim, Josh Daniels, and Matthew Meinecke. Rod Richards was spun out entering turn three as well. Hunter Smith, from Fort Morgan, Colorado, took over the race lead on the restart and went on to capture his first in Boone. David Smith, no relation to the winner, came from Twenith to finish second. Roath took third, Buck Scharforth was fourth, and twenty-third place starter Doug Smith came home fifth.

The final feature of the night was the IMCA Hobby Stocks 15-lap feature presented by Pickett Salvage. Braelynn Long led the first lap before Dylan Hill took the top spot away, and he was followed by Bryce Sommerfled. Hill held on to that top spot through the only caution on lap six. Thirteenth-place starter Joe Wollenhaupt took the top spot away on lap ten, and he would go on to capture the win. Hill finished second, Sommerfeld was third, twelfth place starter Corey VanDerWilt was fourth, and eleventh place starter Eric Knutson was fifth.

Next Saturday night, June 13th, is the Odega Dash for IMCA Hobby Stocks. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, and IMCA Mod Lites also compete. Pits Open at 3:30p, Grandstands Open at 4:30p, Hot Laps at 5p, and Racing at 6p.

The THRIVE Hawkeye Challenge will take place on Saturday, June 20th, and the Sprint King Sprints will also be held on that day. Tuesday, June 23rd, the 35th Annual Harris Clash is presented by Wehrs Machine and Racing Products. Saturday, June 27th, is Bumble Bee Nationals for IMCA Sport Compacts along with the Farley Smackdown for Mods and Stock Cars. All events, except for the Harris Clash, will begin with hot laps at 5 PM and racing at 6 PM; The Harris Clash will have hot laps starting at 6 PM and racing at 7 PM.
